Cooktop

Seamed Burners
The seaHedburner bases of your range are secured to the
cooktop and are not designed to be removed. Since the
burners are seaHedinto the cooktop, boiHoversor spiHHswiHHnot
seep underneath the cooktop.
However, the burner base shouHdbe cHeanedafter each use.
The cap portion of the burner is easiHyremoved for cHeaning.

Burner caps must be correctHypHacedon the burner base for
proper operation of the burner.
High Performance Burner"
There is one 16,000 BTU* high speed burner Hocatedin the Heft
front position on your range. This burner offers higher speed
cooking that can be used to quickHybring water to a boiHand for
Harge-quantity cooking.
Simmer [:}urner (select models:)
This burner is Hocatedin the right rear position. The simmer
burner offers a HowerBTU flame for deHicatesauces or meriting
chocoHate.
BTUratings will vary when using LP gas.
Burner Grates
The grates must be properHypositioned before cooking. Lower
the grates onto the range so that the bars match up and the
rubber feet Hocatedat the four corners of the grates sit in the
indentations on the cooktop=
Improper instaHHationor removaHof the grates may resuHtin
chipping or scratching of the cooktop. It may aHsocause pans
to be unsteady on the grates.
Do not operate the bamers withoat a pan on the grate.
The grate's porcelain finish may chip withoat a pan to
absorb the heat from the bamer flame.
Use care when stirring food in a pot/pan sitting on the burner
grate. The grates have a smooth finish for ease of cHeaning.
The pot/pan wiHHsHideif the handHeis not heHd.This may resuHt
in spiHHingof hot food items and may be a burn hazard.
AHthoughthe burner grates are durabHe,they wiHHgraduaHHy
Hosetheir shine and/or discoHor,due to the high temperatures
of the gas flame.
A properHyadjusted burner with dean ports wiHHHight
within a few seconds. If using naturaHgas, the flame
wiHHbe bHuewith a deeper bHueinner cone.
If the burner flame is yeHHowor is noisy, the air/gas
mixture may be incorrect. Contact a service technician
to adjust. (Adjustments are not covered by the war-

sound when the surface burner is turned off. This is a
normaHoperating sound of the burner.
" If the controH knob is turned very quickHy from High to
Low, the flame may go out, particuHarHyif the burner is
coHd. If this occurs, turn the knob to the OFF position,
wait severaHseconds and reHightthe burner.
