HOW TO PREVENT IT
ALWAYS OPERATE THE COMPRESSOR IN A WELL VENTI-
LATED AREA FREE OF COMBUSTIBLE MATERIALS, GASO-
LINE OR SOLVENT VAPORS.
IF SPRAYING FLAMMABLE MATERIALS, LOCATE COMPRES-
SOR AT LEAST 20 FEET AWAY FROM SPRAY AREA. AN
ADDITIONAL LENGTH OF HOSE MAY BE REQUIRED.
STORE FLAMMABLE MATERIALS IN A SECURE LOCATION
AWAY FROM COMPRESSOR,
NEVER PLACE OBJECTS AGAINST OR ON TOP OF COM-
PRESSOR. OPERATE COMPRESSOR IN AN OPEN AREA AT
LEAST 12 INCHES AWAY FROM ANY WALL OR OBSTRUC-

CAUSE RUPTURE OR EXPLOSION.

EXCEEDING THE PRESSURE RATING OF AIR TOOLS, SPRAY
GUNS, AIR OPERATED ACCESSORIES, TIRES AND OTHER
INFLATABLES CAN CAUSE THEM TO EXPLODE OR FLY

HOW TO PREVENT IT
DRAIN TANK DAILY OR AFTER EACH USE, IF TANK DEVELOPS
A LEAK, REPLACE IT IMMEDIATELY WITH A NEW TANK OR
REPLACE THE ENTIRE COMPRESSOR.
NEVER DRILL INTO, WELD, OR MAKE ANY MODIFICATIONS TO
THE TANK OR ITS ATTACHMENTS.

PRESSURES. NEVER MAKE ADJUSTMENTS OR PARTS

Congratulations! You have purchased a one cylinder,
compact, permanently lubricated compressor. The
absence of a tank and the ultra light weight gives you
added mobility as well as ease in storage, while it
allows you to utilize many air tools, including inflators,
blow guns, spray guns, air brushes, caulking guns and
etchers. Permanently lubricated (oilless) design
means you never have to add oil which also guaran-
tees that you will spray entirely oilfree air.
A 1/4" x 15' air hose with integral pressure adjusting
valve is supplied with your compressor, as well as an
air chuck. Accessories for use with your new com-
pressor are available through the current Sears Power
and Hand Tools Catalog or at full line Sears stores.
Your compressor will operate many accessories.
Check the pressure and flow rating recommended by
the accessory manufacturer. Make sure it is compat-
ible with the air delivery of your compressor.

Accumulator Tank (not included on some models):
Your accumulator tank is equipped with a relief (pop-
off) valve to prevent an over pressure condition in the
tank. This 2 gallon tank is not designed to store air,
but rather to provide the additional volume of com-
pressed air necessary to operate a wide variety of air
tools. When starting your compressor, attach the tool
to the hose, set the pressure adjusting valve at the
required pressure, wait a few moments until the tank
fills with air. You will know the tank is filled when you
hear air bleeding through the pressure adjusting valve.
Depending on the type and size of tool being used,
you will occasionally need to wait for the tank to refill
before continuing. When you are finished or changing
tools, turn the compressor switch off and set the
pressure adjusting valve to 10 PSI and wait for the
tank to discharge completely.
Grasp the handle and lift the air compressor out of the carton. Remove the styrofoam and/or cardboard and
discard.

Location of the Air Compressor
Your compressor comes to you completely as-
sembled and ready for use. Operate the air compres-
sor in a dry, clean, cool and well ventilated area. The
air compressor pump and case are designed to allow
for proper cooling. Clean or blow off dust or dirt that
collects on the air compressor. A clean air compres-
sor runs cooler and provides longer service. The
ventilation openings on your air compressor are
necessary to maintain proper operating temperature.
Do not place rags or other containers on or near
these openings.
Extension Cords
Use extra air hose instead of an extension cord to
avoid voltage drop and power loss to the motor.
If an extension cord must be used, be sure it is:
• a 3-wire extension cord that has a 3-blade
grounding plug, and a 3-slot receptacle that will
accept the plug on the compressor
• in good condition
• no longer than 50 feet
• 14 gauge (AWG) or larger. (Wire size increases as
gauge number decreases.) 12 AWG, 10 AWG
and 8 AWG may also be used. DO NOT USE 16
OR 18 AWG.
GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
IMPROPER GROUNDING CAN RESULT IN
ELECTRICAL SHOCK. IN THE EVENT OF A
SHORT CIRCUIT, GROUNDING REDUCES
THE RISK OF SHOCK BY PROVIDING AN
ESCAPE WIRE FOR THE ELECTRIC CUR-
RENT. THIS AIR COMPRESSOR MUST BE
PROPERLY GROUNDED. READ THE
FOLLOWING:
1. The air compressor is designed for 120 volt
operation only and is equipped with a cord having
a grounding wire with an appropriate grounding
plug. The plug must be used with an outlet that
has been installed and grounded in accordance
with all local codes and ordinances (see Figure
below). The outlet must have the same configu-
ration as the plug. DO NOT USE AN ADAPTER.
2. Do not modify the plug that has been provided. If
.
it does not fit the available outlet, the correct
outlet should be installed by a qualified electri-
cian.
Inspect the plug and cord before each use. Do
not use if there are signs of damage.
RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK. IF REPAIR-
ING OR REPLACING CORD OR PLUG, THE
GROUNDING WIRE MUST BE KEPT SEPA-
RATE FROM THE CURRENT-CARRYING
WIRES. NEVER CONNECT THE GROUND-
ING WIRE TO A FLAT BLADE PLUG TERMI-
NAL. (THE GROUNDING WIRE HAS INSU-
LATION WITH AN OUTER SURFACE THAT
IS GREEN - WITH OR WITHOUT YELLOW
STRIPES.)
If these grounding instructions are not completely
understood, or if in doubt as to whether the compres-
sor is properly grounded, have the installation
checked by a qualified electrician.

Air Hose
The air hose attached to your compressor has an
integral pressure adjusting valve at the working end of
the hose. Should service or replacement be required,
make sure that the pressure adjusting valve is present
in the air hose line.
Do not allow hose to become kinked or
pinched at any time. This is important to
avoid damage to your compressor and to
maintain pressure adjusting valve control.
Do NOT replace the hose with standard
hose that is not equipped with the pressure
adjusting valve. The appropriate hose
assembly for your compressor is available
at Sears.
1. Before plugging in the air compressor, set the
adjustable pressure valve to "10" PSI. Make sure
the "ON/OFF" switch is in the "OFF" position.
2. Connect the air tool or accessory to the air hose.
Tighten securely.
3. Plug the power cord into the grounded outlet.
4. Start the compressor by setting the "ON/OFF"
switch to the "ON" position.
TOO MUCH AIR PRESSURE COULD
CAUSE AN AIR TOOL OR VEHICLE TIRE TO
RUPTURE OR EXPLODE. CAREFULLY
FOLLOW STEPS 5 AND 6 EACH TIME YOU
USE YOUR COMPRESSOR.

Check the manufacturer's maximum pressure
rating for the air tool, accessory or vehicle tire
being used. The air compressor outlet pressure
must never exceed the maximum pressure rating.
Slowly increase the pressure setting of the adjust-
able pressure valve. You should be able to hear
and feel air pressure being relieved by the adjust-
able pressure valve. If pressure is not being
relieved, turn the air compressor off immediately.
The pressure valve must be replaced.
Compressed air from the outfit may contain
water condensation. Do not spray unfil-
tered air at an item that could be damaged.
Some air operated tools or devices may
require filtered air. Read the instructions
for the air tool or device.

When you have finished using the air compressor:
Set the "ON/OFF" switch to "OFF" and unplug the
cord.
Relieve all pressure from the air compressor head
and air hose by turning the adjustable pressure
valve to 10 P.S.I.
3. Protect the electrical cord and air hose from
damage by winding them loosely around the air
com pressor.
4. Store the air compressor in a clean and dry
location.

Your new compressor can operate many air operated tools and accessories. Below are some examples of
equipment available and a brief description of what can be done with your compact compressor and this
equipment:
INFLATION EQUIPMENT: Using an air chuck, you
can inflate tires by setting the adjustable pressure
valve at the pressure marked on the tire. By using an
adapter available in an inflator kit, you can inflate air
mattresses, rafts, toys, bicycle tires, pools, balls and
much more.
SPRAY GUNS: There are several types of spray guns
available for use with your compact compressor. You
can paint toys, lawn furniture, fences and do a variety
of other small painting jobs. Where you might have
used a spray can of paint before, a spray gun will give
you more control, less mess, less waste and a better
finish.
BLOW GUN: Another handy item is the blow gun. It
can be used to blow dust and dirt from many types of
equipment. For example, your air conditioner, vents
on your car, refrigerator, your furnace and filters, work
benches, table saws and clogged fuel lines. (All
electrical equipment must be unplugged before
cleaning.)
AIR BRUSHES: There are also several air brushes
available for use with your compressor. With these
you can pinstripe, outline, do stenciling, detailing on t-
shirts, decoys, ceramics, print banners and signs and
many other types of detailed painting. Artists and
hobbyists can find many uses for air brushes.
CAULKING GUN: This is a handy tool for many
common household jobs. The caulking gun is
excellent for caulking and glazing around windows,
bathtubs, window casements and wall tile. It is also a
handy tool for applying adhesives, such as for dry wall
application.
POWER WASHER: The power washer works well for
your many outside cleaning jobs. It will reach high

iFelicitaciones! Usted ha comprado un compresor
compacto de un s61o cilindro de lubricaci6n permanente.
La falta de un tanque y el peso ultra liviano le brinda mayor
movilidad, asi como facilidad de almacenaje, a la vez que le
permite usar varias herramientas neumaticas, incluyendo
infladores, pistolas sopladoras, pistolas pulverizadoras,
pistolas limpiadoras, pistolas aplicadoras de masilla y
canteadores. Lubricaci6n permanente (sin aceite) significa
que nunca hay que agregar aceite Io cual tambi6n garantiza
que el aire rociado estarA completamente libre de aceite.
Con el compresor de aire se provee una manguera
neumatica de 1/4" x 15' con una valvula integral de
regulaci6n de presi6n asi como un mandril neumatico.

Bomba del Compresor de Aire: Para comprimir aire, el
pist6n se mueve de arriba a abajo en el cilindro. En la
carrera hacia abajo, el aire ingresa por las vAIvulas de
admisi6n. La vAIvula de salida permanece cerrada.
Cuando el pist6n corre hacia arriba, el aire se comprime.
Las valvulas de admisi6n se cierran y el aire comprimido es
forzado a salir por la vAIvula de salida y por la manguera
neumatica.
Valvula de Presibn Regulable: La valvula de presi6n
controla la presi6n que va del compresor de aire al
accesorio. La valvula de regulaci6n de presi6n puede
usarse para aproximadamente fijar la presi6n entre 10 y 125
PSI. (125 PSI es lamas alta presi6n que este compresor
suministrarA).
ANTES DE ARRANCAR EL COMPRESOR,

LA PRESION REQUERIDA POR EL ACCESORIO
QUE SE EST.&.USANDO. PARA INFLAR Y
OTROS TRABAJOS QUE REQUlERAN DE UNA
PRESION EXACTA, USAR UN MEDIDOR DE
PRESION.
Tanque de Acumulacibn (no se incluye en algunos
modelos): Su tanque esta equipado con una valvula de
alivio (que salta) para evitar una condici6n de sobrepresi6n
en el tanque. Este tanque de 2 galones no ha sido
disefiado para almacenar aire, sino para proveer de un
volumen adicional de aire comprimido necesario para
operar una amplia variedad de herramientas neumaticas. AI
arrancar el compresor, fijar la herramienta a la manguera,
fijar la vAIvula de regulaci6n de presi6n a la presi6n
requerida, esperar un momento a que el tanque se Ilene de
aire. Usted sabra que el tanque esta Ileno cuando escuche
el aire escapar de la vAIvula de regulaci6n de presi6n.
Dependiendo del tipo y tamafio de la herramienta que se
usa, ocasionalmente tendrA que esperar que el tanque se
vuelva a Ilenar antes de continuar. AI terminar o cambiar de
herramienta, apagar el compresor de aire y fijar la valvula de
regulaci6n de presi6n a 10 PSI y esperar a que el tanque se
descargue por completo.
Agarrar el asa y sacar el compresor de aire de la caja. Quitar la espuma y/o cart6n y descartar.

Ubicacion del Compresor de Aire
Su compresor de aire viene completamente ensamblado y
listo para usar. Operar el compresor de aire en un Area
limpia, seca y bien ventilada. La bombay el casco del
compresor de aire estAn dise_ados para permitir un
enfriamiento apropiado. Limpiar o soplar la tierra y el polvo
que se acumula en el compresor de aire. Un compresor de
aire limpio funciona a mas bajas temperaturas y tiene una
vida 0til mas larga. Las aberturas de ventilaci6n en el
compresor de aire son necesarias para mantener una
temperatura de operaci6n apropiada. No colocar alfombras
u otros contenedores encima o cerca de esta aberturas.
Cordones de Extension
Para evitar la caida de voltaje, perdida de potencia del
motor, usar una manguera mas larga en vez de cord6n de
extensi6n.
Si se hace necesario usar un cord6n de extensi6n:
• Utilizar s61o cordones de extensi6n de 3 alambres,
enchufe con espiga para conexi6n a tierra, y un
tomacorriente que acepte el enchufe del compresor
• que est6 en buenas condiciones
• que no tenga mas de 50 pies de largo
• Calibre 14 (AWG) o mas grueso. (El grosor del cable es
mayor cuanto menor sea su n0mero.) Tambien pueden
usarse cordones de calibre 12 AWG, 10 AWG y 8 AWG.
NO USAR CORDONES DE CALIBRE 16 NI 18 AWG.

APROPIADAMENTE. LEER LO SIGUlENTE:

El compresor de aire estA dise_ado para operar
0nicamente con 120 voltios y esta equipado con un
cord6n provisto de un alambre de conexi6n a tierra con
un enchufe apropiado para conexi6n a tierra. El
enchufe debe conectarse en un tomacorriente que haya
sido instalado y conectado a tierra de acuerdo con
todos los c6digos y ordenanzas locales (ver Figura
siguiente). El tomacorriente debe tener la misma
configuraci6n que el enchufe. NO USAR
ADAPTADORES.

tomacorriente, un electricista calificado debe instalar
un tomacorriente adecuado.

Si no se entienden completamente estas instrucciones, o si

conectado a tierra apropiadamente, hacer revisar la
instalaci6n por un electricista calificado.

Manguera Neumatica
La manguera neumatica provista con el compresor tiene
integrada una valvula de regulaci6n de presi6n en el
extremo que usa para trabajar. En caso que requiera
mantenimiento o remplazo, asegurarse que la valvula de
regulaci6n de presi6n est6 presente en la linea de la
manguera neumatica.
Nunca permitir que la manguera se quiebre o
doble. I_sto es importante para evitarle dahos
al compresor y mantener el control de la valvula
de regulacibn de presibn.
NO REEMPLAZAR LA MANGUERA POR UNA
MANGUERA ESTANDAR QUE NO EST#
EQUlPADA CON LA VALVULA DE REGULACION
DE PRESION. LA MANGUERA APROPIADA

Antes de conectar el compresor, fijar la valvula de
regulaci6n de presi6n en "10 PSI". Asegurarse que la
palanquita "ON/OFF" (prendido/apagado) est6 en la
posici6n de "OFF".
Conectar la herramienta o accesorio a la manguera
neumatica. Ajustar con fuerza.
Conectar el enchufe al tomacorriente con conexi6n a
tierra.
Arrancar el compresor poniendo la palanquita de "ON/
OFF" en la posici6n de "ON".

EL EXCESO DE PRESION DE AIRE PUEDE
HACER QUE UNA HERRAMIENTA NEUMATICA
O NEUMATICO SE ROMPA O REVIENTE.
SEGUlR CUlDADOSAMENTE LOS PASOS 5 Y 6
CADA VEZ QUE SE USE EL COMPRESOR.
Verificar las especificaciones maximas de presi6n para
la herramienta neumatica, accesorio o neumatico de
vehiculo que se est6 usando. La salida del compresor
de aire nunca debe exceder la presi6n maxima
especificada.

Incrementar lentamente la presi6n en la valvula de
regulaci6n. Se debe poder oir y sentir el aire
escapando de la valvula de regulaci6n de presi6n. Si la
presi6n no se estuviese alivianado, apagar de
inmediato el compresor de aire. La vAlvula de presi6n
debe reemplazarse.
El aire comprimido proveniente del equipo
puede tener condensacibn de agua. No rociar
en materiales que puedan daharse con aire sin
filtrar. Algunas herramientas y dispositivos
neumaticos pueden requerir aire filtrado. Leer
las instrucciones del dispositivo o herramienta
neumatica.
AI terminar de usar el compresor de aire:
1. Mover la palanquita de "ON/OFF" a la posici6n de
"OFF" y desconectar el cord6n.
2. Aliviar la presi6n del cabezal del compresor de aire y de
la manguera neumatica girando la vAlvula de regulaci6n
de presi6n a 10 PSI.

Proteger el cord6n el6ctrico y manguera neumatica de
da_os, enrollarlos alrededor del compresor de aire en
forma suelta.
4. Guardar el compresor de aire en un lugar seco y limpio.

Su nuevo compresor puede operar muchas herramientas y accesorios neumaticos. A continuaci6n hay algunos ejemplos de
equipo disponible y una breve descripci6n de Io que se puede hacer con su compresor compacto y este equipo.
EQUlPO PARA INFLAR: Usando un mandril neumatico, se
pueden inflar Ilantas fijando la valvula de regulaci6n a la
presi6n indicada en la Ilanta. Usando un adaptador
disponible en un juego para inflar, se pueden inflar
colchones de aire, balsas, juguetes, Ilantas de bicicleta,
piscinas, pelotas y mucho mas.
PISTOLAS PULVERIZADORAS: Existen varios tipos de
pistolas pulverizadoras disponibles para usar con su
compresor compacto. Se pueden pintar juguetes, muebles
de jardin, cercas y hacer una variedad de trabajos de
pintura. En donde usted antes hubiese utilizado una lata
que viene con pintura ya presurizada, una pistola
pulverizadora le dar& mayor control, menos suciedad,
menos desperdicio y un mejor acabado.
DESENPOLVADORES: Otro articulo 0til es el
desenpolvador. Puede usarse para soplar la tierra y la
suciedad de cualquier tipo de equipo. Por ejemplo, aires
acondicionados, ductos de ventilaci6n de autom6viles,
refrigeradores, calentadores y filtros, mesas de trabajo,
sierras de mesa y lineas de combustible obstruidas. (Todo
equipo el6ctrico debe desconectarse antes de limpiarse.)
BROCHAS DE AIRE: Tambien hay varias brochas de aire
disponibles para usar con su compresor de aire. Con elias
se pueden dibujar lineas delgadas, contornear, estarcir,
hacer detalles en camisas, sefiuelos, cer&micos, pancartas
impresas, letreros y muchos otros tipos de detalles con
pintura. Se pueden encontrar muchos usos para las
brochas neumaticas en las artes y los pasatiempos.
PISTOLAS APLICADORAS DE MASILLA: I_sta es una
herramienta muy 0til para muchos trabajos en el hogar. La
pistola pulverizadora es excelente para masillar y sellar
alrededor de las ventanas, tinas, marcos de ventanas y
azulejos. Tambi6n es una herramienta Otil para aplicar
adhesivos, tales como aplicaciones en paredes de panel de
yeso.
LAVADORAS A PRESlON: Las lavadoras a presi6n
trabajan bien en muchas aplicaciones de limpieza exterior

usarse para limpiar la mayoria de drenajes dom6sticos.

un circuito propio.
