Do the ice cubes have
an unusual odor?
Ice is a porous material which can
absorb odors from the environment.
Ice cubes which have been in the ice
cube container for a tong time may
absorb such odors, stick together
and slowly become smaller.
We recommend that these ice cubes
are no longer used.
Other means of preventing odors:
The ice cube container should
be cleaned occasionally with
warm water. Make sure that you
move the ice maker sensor arm
up to the STOP position before
cleaning the container. Rinse
out and wipe dry.
Check the contents of the
freezer for spoilt or out-of date
food. All odorous foods should
be wrapped thoroughly or
stored in airtight containers to
prevent the build up of odors.
The water filter may have to be
replaced in some models.
In some cases the quality of the
water connection in the house
should be checked.
