The following tools can be used to help you install your light switch
(not included)
Before installing your light switch, power must be turned OFF. You
can turn off the power by either switching the corresponding circuit
breaker to the OFF position, or removing the corresponding fuse in
your fuse box.
To ensure safety, we recommend using a voltage tester to ensure
that all electrical power is off.
Attempts to install wiring when there is active electrical power can
lead to serious injury or death. If you are not comfortable with
electrical work, contact a qualified electrician for assistance.
Before installing your Wireless Smart Light Switch, you must remove
your currently installed light switch.
First, unscrew and remove the faceplate from the old light switch.
Do not detach the wires yet.
SAFETY RECOMMENDATION: Use a voltage tester to test around the
old light switch, and flip your light switch on and off a few times to
make sure that the power is OFF. The voltage tester should not light
up, and the light should not turn on.
Unscrew and pull out the old light switch, detaching the wires.

After removing your old light switch, you can go ahead and install
your Wireless Smart Light Switch.
Loosen screws.
Connect the wires.
(Contact a qualified electrician for assistance if necessary.
Screw the light switch in and then screw on the faceplate.

In order to use your light switch with your smart phone, you will first
need to download the Vivitar Smart Security 2 App, which is available
on the Google Play Store and on the iPhone App Store.

APP REGISTRATION

To successfully use the Vivitar Smart Security 2 App, you will first
need to create an account. To do so, follow the steps below.
Open the Vivitar
Smart Security 2 App
and press “Register.”
Enter your e-mail
address or phone
number to create an
account.
You will receive a verification
code over email or text
message. Enter it here.
Setup a password for your
account. Once finished,
you can login to your
account.
Agree to the terms of
the privacy policy.

LIGHT SWITCH SETUP
7.
Press and hold the power button for approximately 20-30 seconds
until the LED Indicator Light begins to flash rapidly. Your light switch
is ready for Wi-Fi connection.
If the LED indicator light flashes slowly, it indicates that you are in AP
Mode. Use AP Mode only if you want to use your light switch with
your phone, but do not have access to a Wi-Fi network. Press and
hold the power button for 20-30 seconds to switch between AP
mode and standard Wi-Fi quick connect mode.

Go to your phone’s
settings menu, and make
sure that your phone is
connected to a 2.4GHz
Wi-Fi network.
Select “Add Device” in
order to choose a device
to add to your home
network .
In the Add Device screen,
select to add a Switch.
Confirm that the LED
Indicator Light on your
Light Switch is still
blinking rapidly.

name and password.
Wait as the Wi-Fi
connection is established.
Once the connection is
established, you can use

This warranty covers the original consumer purchaser only and is not
transferable.
This warranty covers products that fail to function properly UNDER
NORMAL USAGE, due to defects in material or workmanship. Your
product will be repaired or replaced at no charge for parts or labor for
a period of one year.
What Is Not Covered by Warranty:
Damages or malfunctions not resulting from defects in material or
workmanship and damages or malfunctions from other than normal
use, including but limited to, repair by unauthorized parties,
tampering, modification or accident.

To receive Warranty service along with the name and address of an
authorized product service center, the original consumer purchaser
must contact us for problem determination and service procedures.
Proof of purchase in the form of a bill of sale or receipted invoice,
evidencing that the Product is within the applicable Warranty
period(s), MUST be presented in order to obtain the requested service.
It is your responsibility to properly package and send any defective
products along with a dated copy of proof of purchase, a written
explanation of the problem, and a valid return address to the
authorized service center at your expense. Do not include any other
items or accessories with the defective product. Any products
received by the authorized service center that are not covered by
warranty will be returned unrepaired.
NO WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT
LIMITED TO, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR
