FEDERAL and/or CALIFORNIA EMISSION CONTROL WARRANTY STATEMENT
YOUR WARRANTY RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS
MTDConsumerGroupInc,the UnitedStatesEnvironmentalProtectionAgency(EPA),and,forthoseproductscertifiedfor salein thestateofCalifornia,the
CaliforniaAirResourcesBoard(CARB)are pleasedtoexplainthe emission(evaporativeand/orexhaust)controlsystem(ECS)warrantyonyouroutdoor2006
andlatersmalloff-roadspark-ignitedengineandequipment(outdoorequipmentengine)InCalifornia,newoutdoorequipmentenginesmustbedesigned,builtand
equippedtomeetthe State'sstringentanti-smogstandards(inotherstates,1997andlatermodelyearequipmentmustbedesigned,built,and equippedto meet
theU.S.EPAsmalloff-road,sparkignitionengineregulations.MTDConsumerGroupIncmustwarrantthe ECSonyouroutdoorequipmentenginefor the periodof
timelistedbelowprovidedtherehasbeennoabuse,neglector impropermaintenanceofoutdoorequipmentengine.
YourECSmayincludepartssuchasthecarburetor,fuel-injectionsystem,the ignitionsystem,catalyticconverter,fueltanks,fuel lines,fuelcaps,valves,canisters,
filters,vaporhoses,clamps,connectors,andotherassociatedemission-relatedcomponents.
Whereawarrantableconditionexists,MTDConsumerGroupIncwill repairyouroutdoorequipmentengineatnocosttoyouincludingdiagnosis,partsand labor.
MAN UFACTURER'S WARRANTY COVERAGE:
Thisemissioncontrolsystemiswarrantedfortwoyears.Ifanyemission-relatedpartonyouroutdoorequipmentengineisdefective,thepartwill berepairedor
replacedbyMTDCONSUMERGROUPINC.
OWNER'S WARRANTY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Asthe outdoorequipmentengineowner,youareresponsiblefor performanceofthe requiredmaintenancelistedinyourowner'smanual.MTDConsumerGroup
Increcommendsthat youretainallreceiptscoveringmaintenanceonyouroutdoorequipmentengine,butMTDConsumerGroupInccannotdeny warrantysolely
forthe lackof receipts.
Asthe outdoorequipmentengineowner,youshouldhoweverbe awarethat MTDConsumerGroupIncmaydenyyouwarrantycoverageifyouroutdoorequipment
engineor a parthasfaileddue toabuse,neglect,or impropermaintenanceor unapprovedmodifications.
Youare responsiblefor presentingyouroutdoorequipmentengineto MTDConsumerGroupInc'sdistributioncenterorservicecenterassoon asthe problem
exists.Thewarrantyrepairsshouldbecompletedin a reasonableamountoftime,nottoexceed30 days.Ifyouhaveaquestionregardingyourwarrantycoverage,
youshouldcontactthe MTDConsumerGroupIncServiceDepartmentat 1-800-800-7310orvia emailathttp://support.mtdproducts.com
GENERAL EMISSIONS WARRANTY COVERAGE:
MTDConsumerGroupIncwarrantstothe ultimatepurchaserand eachsubsequentpurchaserthat theoutdoorequipmentengineis: Designed,builtand equipped
soasto conformwithall applicableregulations;and freefromdefectsin materialsand workmanshipthatcausethe failureofa warrantedparttobe identicalin all
materialrespectstothatpartas describedin MTDConsumerGroup Inc'sapplicationfor certification.
Thewarrantyperiodbeginsonthedatetheoutdoorequipmentengineisdeliveredto anultimatepurchaserorfirst placedintoservice.Thewarrantyperiodistwo
years.
Subjecttocertainconditionsandexclusionsasstatedbelow,the warrantyonemission-relatedpartsis asfollows:
1. Anywarrantedpartthat isnotscheduledfor replacementasrequiredmaintenancein thewritteninstructionssupplied,iswarrantedforthe warrantyperiod
statedabove.Ifthe partfails duringthe periodofwarrantycoverage,thepartwill berepairedor replacedbyMTDConsumerGroupIncaccordingto subsection
(4)below.Anysuchpart repairedor replacedunderwarrantywillbewarrantedfor the remainderof the period.
2. Anywarrantedpartthat isscheduledonlyfor regularinspectionin the writteninstructionssuppliediswarrantedforthe warrantyperiodstatedabove.Anysuch
partrepairedor replacedunderwarrantywill bewarrantedforthe remainingwarrantyperiod.
3. Anywarrantedpartthat isscheduledfor replacementasrequiredmaintenancein thewritteninstructionssuppliediswarrantedforthe periodoftimebeforethe
firstscheduledreplacementdateforthat part.If the partfails beforethefirst scheduledreplacement,the partwill berepairedor replacedbyMTDConsumer
GroupIncaccordingto subsection(4)below.Anysuchpartrepairedor replacedunderwarrantywill bewarrantedfor the remainderofthe periodpriortothe
firstscheduledreplacementpointfor the part.
4. Repairor replacementofanywarrantedpart underthe warrantyprovisionshereinmustbeperformedatawarrantystationatno chargetothe owner.
5. Notwithstandingthe provisionsherein,warrantyservicesorrepairswill beprovidedatallof ourdistributioncentersthatarefranchisedtoservicethe subject
enginesor equipment.
6. Theoutdoorequipmentengineownerwill notbe chargedfor diagnosticlaborthat isdirectlyassociatedwithdiagnosisof a defective,emission-relatedwar-
rantedpart, providedthat suchdiagnosticworkis performedata warrantystation.
7. MTDConsumerGroupIncisliablefor damagestootherengineor equipmentcomponentsproximatelycausedbya failureunderwarrantyof anywarranted
part.
8. Throughoutthe off-roadengineandequipmentwarrantyperiodstatedabove,MTDConsumerGroupIncwill maintainasupplyofwarrantedpartssufficientto
meetthe expecteddemandforsuchparts.
9. Anyreplacementpartmaybe usedinthe performanceof anywarrantymaintenanceor repairsand mustbeprovidedwithoutchargetothe owner.Suchusewill
notreducethe warrantyobligationsofMTDConsumerGroupInc.
10.Add-onor modifiedpartsthat arenotexemptedbythe AirResourcesBoardmaynot beused.Theuseofany non-exemptedadd-onor modifiedpartsby the
ultimatepurchaserwill begroundsfordisallowingawarrantyclaims.MTDConsumerGroup Incwill notbe liabletowarrantfailuresofwarrantedpartscaused
bythe useofa non-exemptedadd-onor modifiedpart.
