12.4.28 F97 (Compress or Overheating)
Malfunction Decision Conditions
During operation of cooling and heating, when compressor tank temperature data (233.6°F) is detected by the
compressor tank temperature sensor.
Malfunction Caused
Faulty compressor tank temperature sensor
2/3 way valve closed
Refrigerant shortage (refrigerant leakage)
Faulty outdoor unit PCB
Faulty compressor
Troubleshooting
When F97 indication happens.
For safety reason and to prevent component
breakdown, always switch off the power
before remove and connect the component.
Replace the compressor tank
temperature sensor.
Repair the pipe flare or union nuts.
Reclaim and recharge refrigerant.
Open the 2/3 way valve.
Procedure complete.
Check the compressor tank temperature
sensor.
Does it conform to the sensor
characteristic chart?
Check if expansion valve or strainer
clogged (ice formed).
Reclaim and recharge for a specified
amount of refrigerant.
2/3 way valve closed?
Check for gas leakage.
