®
devices providing proper signal levels, resulting in a signicant improvement in the
audio quality of your recordings. It is also impedance matched to ensure compatibility. The
MO-PL1 enables the voice to be “up front” even when recording video from a distance. The
included tie clip discreetly hides the microphone and provides hands-free simplicity during
presentations or interviews.
Easy to use with no batteries or power supply needed, the MO-PL1 works with many audio
and video recording apps to capture clear and natural sound for lectures, dictations, and
online videos. The omnidirectional polar pattern provides excellent off-axis response even if
the subject’s head turns while speaking. The 12-foot cable provides the exibility of getting
longer-distance camera shots with up-close audio. The MO-PL1 is an excellent tool for
recording professional-quality sound on mobile devices.

INSTRUCTIONS
Recording
1. Plug the TRRS mini plug of the MO-PL1 into the 3.5 mm jack of your device.
2. Place the foam windscreen over the microphone and insert the microphone down into the clip until it ts
snuggly.
3. The tie clip can be fastened to a lapel, collar, or to the inside of a garment. Position the clip so that the
microphone is approximately 6-8 inches from the sound source.
4. You are now ready to record. Consult the instructions of your video or audio recording app for directions on
recording.
Note: The MO-PL1 is compatible with most recording apps. However, apps that do not accept an external mic
input are not compatible.
Important:
When playing back a recording, unplug the MO-PL1 from the 3.5 mm jack. To listen to playback, use
headphones or listen through the internal speaker.

5
Before recording a complete take, it is always advisable to do a test recording first, and listen to the playback.
If the voice is too low, increase the mic gain in the app settings. If there is no mic gain control in the app, move the
mic closer to the source.
If the voice is too loud or is distorting during playback, decrease the mic gain. If there is no mic gain control in the app,
move the microphone further away from the source.
Recording Tips
• For the best sound quality, the MO-PL1 microphone should be approximately 6-8 inches from the sound
source.
• The foam windscreen should always be used to diminish vocal plosives and wind noise.
• To prevent cable tension that can move the microphone during recording, create a loop in the cable and tape it
to the inside of the garment.
• If test recordings reveal excessive breath noises or inconsistent levels due to head movement, try attaching the
omnidirectional MO-PL1 upside down.
