CAUSE CORRECTION

Tube fittings are not tight enough.
Defectiveor dirty check valve.
Defectivepressureswitchreleasevalve.
Defectivecheck valve.
Defective air tank.
Possible defect in safety valve
Restricted of defective check valve.

Movethepressure switchlevertothe"OFF" position.
If the outfit doesn't shut off, and the electrical con-
tacts are welded together, replace the pressure
switch.
Ifthe contactsaregood,checktosee ifthepininthe
bottomofthe pressurerelease valve isstuck. If it
doesnot movefreely, replacethevalve.
Retum the outfitto Sears Service Center to check
and adjust, orreplaceswitch.
Tighten fittings where air can be heard escaping.
Check fittings with soapy water solution. DO NOT
OVER-TIGHTEN.
A defective check valve results in a constant air leak
at the pressure release valve when there is pressure
in the tank and the compressor is shut off. Remove
and clean or replace check valve. DO NOT OVER-
TIGHTEN.
Remove and replace the release valve.
A defective check valve results in a constant air leak
at the pressure release valve when there is pressure
in the tank and the compressor is shut off. Remove
and clean or replace check valve. DO NOT OVER-
TIGHTEN.
Airtankmust be replaced. Do not repair the leak.
WARNING I
DO NOT DRILL INTO, WELD OR
OTHERWISE MODIFY AIR TANK
OR IT WILL WEAKEN. THE TANK
CAN RUPTURE OR EXPLODE.
Operate safetyvalve manuallyby pullingon ring. If
valvestillleaks,it mustbe replaced.
Remove and clean or replace.
Loose pulley.
Low oil level.
Loose flywheel.
Loosecompressor mounting screws.
13ghtenpulley set screw, 70-80 in.-Ibs.
Maintain prescribedoillevel. Add oil.
Tighten screw 15-20 ft. Ibs.
Check screws.Tighten as required. (15-20 ft.-Ibs.)
