Sunbeam

provides a smarter approach to pain relief that leverages heat therapy to treat pain, and accelerate
tissue healing when used as a part of your relief regimen. Heat therapy helps to relax tight muscles, ease stiffness,
facilitate stretching, and relieve common muscle and joint pain associated with muscle tension and stress.
Suggested treatment time for application of heat is 20-30 minutes, up to three times a day, for persistent pain that
lasts longer than 48 hours, unless otherwise directed.
Note: Always consult with your physician or health professional for recommended treatment of an injury or chronic
muscle or joint pain.
CONTROLLER FEATURES
AUTO-OFF FEATURE:
The Auto-Off feature is designed for convenience and to conserve energy by automatically turning off after 2 hours of
continuous use. Restart the unit by powering On and selecting desired heat setting.
For XpressHeat
®
, Auto-Off is a selectable feature. By pressing the "Mode"/"Auto-Off" button (Figure 1, Letter C), you
can set the timer to "Stay On" continuously, or to 2 hour Auto-Off to shut the pad down automatically after 2 hours of
heat therapy. The Auto-Off Indicator (Figure 1, Letter D) will light up to show selected mode.
NOTE: After a power outage, the Auto-Off feature automatically resets the timer.
FOR MODELS WITH XPRESSHEAT
®
:
Your Sunbeam
®
XpressHeat
®
heating pad features a unique fast-heat technology in which you will feel heat in 30
seconds - for faster pain relief! The light ring around the controls, called the Heat Meter (Figure 1, Letter E), will light
up one side at a time, indicating progress as the pad heats up. All four sides of the Heat Meter will light up within 30
seconds of powering up, indicating the pad is warm and ready for use.
USING MOIST HEAT THERAPY
For deep, penetrating pain relief, use moist heat therapy. When using moist heat therapy, you should protect furniture
and clothing from becoming damp.
Dampen either side of the pad or wrap with water by patting the surface with a wet sponge or cloth or use a spray
bottle to apply a fine mist. Do not thoroughly soak pad or wrap.
DANGER: DO NOT IMMERSE PAD OR WRAP IN WATER OR PLACE UNDER RUNNING WATER TO DAMPEN SURFACE.
FAILURE TO COMPLY MAY RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY.
NOTICE: If your heating pad or heat wrap has a massage feature, do not use moist heat therapy to prevent damage to
the massagers.
