Gray
Docum e n t Type: Choice: N or m al, Phot o, Docum e nt
Three opt ions of docum ent t ype are provided when you choose
Gray as t he im age type for your scanned document. Choice:
N orm a l, Photo, Docum e nt .
Docu m ent: Choose Docum ent if your original contains
pure t ext or a m ixture of t ext and graphic since it is an
optim al set ting for regular business docum ent . When
using Docum ent , only Threshold can be adj ust ed.
Photo: Choose Phot o if your original cont ains phot o to
reproduce your phot o in vivid grayscale im age. When
using Photo, no Threshold and Contrast can be adj ust ed.
Nor m al: When using N or m al, Threshold, Brightness, and
Cont rast can be adj ust ed.
Threshold: The value ranges from 0 t o 255. The default is
230. A low t hreshold value produces a lighter im age, and can
be used to subdue backgrounds and subt le, unneeded
inform at ion. A high t hreshold value produces a darker im age,
and can be used t o help pick up faint im ages. Adjust the
threshold set t ing by dragging the Threshold sliding bar to the
left or right t o achieve the desired threshold set t ing.
