for gas. Be sure to smell next to the floor because

Do not touch any electric switch;do not useany
phoneinyourbuilding.
Immediatelycallyourgassupplierfroma neighbor's
phone.Followthegassupplier'sinstructions.
Ifyou cannotroachyourgassupplier,callthefire
department.

knob.Neverusetools.If theknobwillnot pushinor
turnbyhand,don'ttryto repairit, calla qualifiedser-
vicetechnician.Forceor attemptedrepairmay result

LIGHTING INSTRUCTIONS
1.STOP!Readthesafetyinformationaboveonthislabel.
2.Removeouterdoor.
3. Set the thermostatto lowestsettinq byturningthe
watertemperaturedialclockwise,(f _,)toitslowest
temperaturesetting (witharrowon dial)asshown.DO
NOT FORCE,
4.TurngascontrolknobclockwiseVI to"OFF" posi-
tion. Knob cannotbeturned from "PILOT" to "OFF"
unlessknobis depressedslightly.DO HOT FORCE,
(Figure6,page 17)
5. Waitfive(5) minutesto clearoutanygas. If youthen
smellgas,STOP!Follow"B" in thesafetyinformation
aboveon this label. If you don'tsmellgas,go to the
.nextstep.
6. Remove(or open)inner door locatedbelow thegas
controlunit.
7. Findpilot-followmetaltubefromgascontrol.Thepilot
islocatedinfrontoftheburner.

8.If youdon'tsmellgas,turnknobongascontrolcounter
clockwise{L_.,_ to"PILOT"position.(Figure7,page17)
9. Push in control knoball the way and hold down.
Immediatelylightthepilotwith a match.Continueto
hold controlknobin for aboutone (1) minuteafter
the pilotislit. Releaseknobandit willpopbackup.
Pilotshouldremainlit.If it goesout,repeatsteps3
through8.
If knobdoesnotpopupwhenreleased,stopand
immediatelycall yourservicetechnicianor gas
supplier.
If the pilot will not stay lit after several tries,
depressandturnthegascontrolknobclockwise
_)') to "OFF"andcallyourservicetechnician
orgassupplier.(Figaro6,page17)
10. Replace(or close)innerdoor.Replaceouterdoor if
doordoesnotcovergascontrolon/offknobortam-
peratureadjustmentknob.(Figure9,page17)
11. Atarmslengthaway,turngascontrolknobcounter-
clockwise_ tothefull "ON" position.Warning
do not use gas control knob to regulate gas
flow. (Figure8,page17)
12. At armslength away,setthe thermostatto desired
setting. Themark( ) HOTindicativeofapproximate
120°F is preferredstarting point.Somelocal laws
may requirea lowerstartingpoint.If hotterwateris
desired,seeinstructionmanualand"warning" below.
13.Replacetheouterdoorifnotreplacedinstep10.

1.Set thethermostatto lowest settingbyturningthe
watertemperaturedial clockwise(f-'_) to itslowest
temperaturesetting (witharrowondial)as shown.DO
NOT FORCE.

TO TURN OFF GAS TO APPLIANCE
2. Turngas controlknobclockwise _) to "OFF"
position. Knobcannot be turned from "PILOT" to

3. Replaceouterdoor(ifremoved).
