In general,turningthe adjustingneedlesIn
(dockwlee)decreasesthe supplyoffuel to
theenginegMng a leaner fuel/air mixture.
Turningthe adjustingneedlesout (counter-
clockwise)lecreases thesupplyoffuel to the
enginegivinga _ fueVairmixture.
IMPORTANT: Damage to the needlesand
seatsb carburetormayresultifturnedintoo

NOTE: The carburetoronthisengineislow
e_. Itisequippedwithan idlefuel
adjustingneedlewitha limltercap, which
alows someadjusthlentwithinthe limits
alowed bythe cap.Donot attempttoremove
thelimltercap.The limitercapcannotbe
removedwi_oot breakingthe a_usting
needle.
1. Be sureyouhave a cleanairfilterandthe
throifiecontrolcable isadjustedproperly
(seeabove).
2. Startengineand allowtowarmfor five
minutes. Make edjus_'_entswithengine
runningand sh_tJan controlleverin
neuV_ (N) pesiUan.
3. Idlespeed setting- WiththroifiecooV_
leverin slow po.si_on,engineshouldidle
at 1750 RPM. Ifencjineidles too sl_v or
fast, turnidlespeeda_justingscrewin or
outL_I correctidleisattained.
4. Idlefuel needle setlJng- Withthrottle

High speed stop is factoryadjusted. Do
not adjust - damage may result.
IMPORTANT: Never tamper with the
engine governor,which is factoryset for
proper engine speed. Overspeeding the
engine above the factory high speed
setting can be dangerous. If you think the
engine-governed high speed needs
adjusting,contact a Sears or other
qualified service center, which has proper
equipment and expedence to make any
necessary adjustments.
