REPLACING BATTERY
_I, CAUTION: Do not shortbattery
terminals by allowing a wrench or any
other object tocontact both terminals at
the same time. Before connecting battery,
remove metal bracelets, wristwatch
bands, dngs, etc.
Positiveterminal must be connected first
to prevent sparkingfrom accidental
grounding.
1. Lift seat pan to raised position and
open battery box door.
2. Disconnect BLACK battery cable first
then RED battery cable and carefully
remove batteryfrom tractor.
3. Installnew battery with terminals in
same positionas old battery.
4. First connectRED battery cable to
positive(+) terminal with hex bolt and
keps nut as shown. Tighten securely.
5. Connect BLACK grounding cable to
negative (-) terminal with remaining
hex bolt and keps nut. Tighten
securely.
6. Close battery box door.

TO REPLACE HEADLIGHT BULB
1. Raise hood.
2. Pull bulb holder out of the hole in the
backside of the gdll.
3. Replace bulb in holder and push bulb
holder securely back into the hole in
the backside of the gdll.
4. Close hood.
INTERLOCKS AND RELAYS
Looseor damaged wiringmay cause your
tractortorun poorly,stoprunning,or
preventitfrom starting.
• Check widng. See electrical widng
diagram in the Repair Parts section.
TO REPLACE FUSE
Replace with 20 amp automotive-type
plug-in fuse. The fuse holder islocated
behind the dash.

1. Raise hood.
2. Unsnap headlight wire connector.
3. Stand infront oftractor. Grasp hoed at
sides, tilttoward engine and liftoff of
tractor.
4. To replace, reverse above procedure.

coub'alleverfromslowtochokei:_sil_on.
Slowlymove leverfromchoketofast
position.
2. Checkto see ifbele inthrottleleverand
holein speedconb'olbracketare aligned.
3. If holesare not aligned,loosencable
clan_pscrewand align e_eholes by
insertinga peecilor a 1/4"drill_ _rough
bothholes.
4. Pul tfu'ottiecable ep to removeslaskand
