TROUBLESHOOTING CHART:

PROBLEM
Engine clicks but
will not start
6 Faulty spark plug.
7 Dirty fuel filter.
8 Stale or dirty fuel.
CAUSE
Weak or dead battery, 1
Corroded battery terminals, 2
Loose or damaged wiring. 3
Faulty solenoid or starter. 4
Cutting too much grass/too fast. 1

CORRECTION
Recharge or replace battery,
Clean battery terminals.
Check all wiring.
Check/replace solenoid or starter.
Raise cutting height/reduce speed
Adjust throttle control.
Clean underside of mower
housing,
i Clean/replace air filter,
Check oil level/change oil.
Clean& regaporchangespark plug.
Replace fueI filter.
Empty fuel tank and refill tank with
fresh, clean gasoline.
Empty fuel tank and carburetor,
refill tank with fresh gasoline and
replace fuel filter.
Connect & tighten spark plug wire.
Clean engine air screen/fins,
Clean/replace muffler.
Check all wiring,
See "To Adjust Carburetor" in
Service and Adjustments section.
Contact a Sears or ether qualified
service center.
Replace blade. Tighten blade bolt
Contact a Sears or other qualified
service center,
Tighten loose part(s).
