HOTSURFACELIGHT
TheHotSurfaceIndicatorLightislocatedatthe
front centerof the cooktop.The lightwill be

ing area is hot. It will
remain on, even
afterthecontrolis UGHTO_COOKTO_
turned off, until the
areahascooled.
DUALELEMENT(select models)
Selectglass-ceramicsurfacesareequipped
witha dual elementlocatedin therightfront
position.
To operate,press the rocker switchon the
controlpanelto the leftto controlthe small

COOKWARE
Toachieveoptimumcookingperformance,use
heavy-gauge,fiat, smoothbottompansthat
conformto thediameterof thecookingarea.

GLASS-CERAMICSURFACE
I Cooktopmayemit lightsmokeand odorthefirstfewtimesthecooktopis used. Thisis
normal.
I Whena controlisturnedon,a redglowcanbeseenthroughtheglass-ceramicsurface.
Theelementwillcycleonandoffto maintainthepresetheatsetting.
I Glass-ceramiccooktopsretainheatforaperiodoftimeaftertheunitisturnedoff.Turnthe
elementoffa fewminutesbeforefoodiscompletelycookedandusetheretainedheatto
completethecooking.WhentheHOTSURFACElightturnsoft(seebelow),thecooking
areawillbe coolenoughtotouch.
Becauseoftheheatretentioncharacteristics,theelementswillnotrespondtochangesin
settingsasquicklyascoilelements.Intheeventofapotentialboilover,removethepan
from thecooking area.

high sugarcontentto melt onto the hot
cooktop.Shouldthishappen,cleanimme-

cuttingboard.Nevercookfooddirectlyon
thesurface.
Neverplacea trivetor wok ringbetween

Makesurethesurfaceandthepanbottom
are clean before turningon to prevent

or fats on the cooking area. Wipe the
cooktopsurfacewithacleanclothorpaper
towelbeforeusing.
Neveruseasoileddishclothorspongeto
cleanthe cooktopsurface.A fitmwill re-
mainwhichmaycausestainsonthecook-
ing surfaceaftertheareaisheated.

Notonlydoesthiswasteenergy,butitcan
