CHAIN REPLACEMENT
CAUTION: Wear protective gloves
when handlingchain. The chain is
sharp and can cut you even when it is
not moving.

shouldrecheckyourchaintensionfre-
quentlyandadjustthachaintensionas
required.See Chain Tensionsection.
• Move On/Stop switchto the Stop
position.
• Replace the oldchainwhen itbe-
comes worn or damaged.
• Use only the Low-Kickbackreplace-
ment chain specifiedin the repair
partslist.The correct replacement bar
and chain is alsospecifiedon a decal
located onthe chain saw.
• See your Sears Sen_ce Center to re-
place and sharpen individualcutters
onyour chain.
• Remove bar clamp nuts.
• Remove bar clamp.
• Remove the oldchain.

• Carefullyremove new chainfrom
package. Hold cha,nwiththe drive
linksas shown.

tween the:teethin the sprocketnose.
• Fit chain drive linksintobar groove.
• Pullguide bar forward untilthe chain
issnug inthe guide bar groove.
• Installthe bar clamp.
• Installbar clampnuts;finger'tighten
only.Do nottightenany furtherat this
point.
