_WAIFINING: Experience indicates that
alcohol blended fuels (called gasoholor using
ethanolor methanol)can attractmoisture
whichleads toseparation and formation of
acids during storage. Acidicgas can damage
the fuel system ofan engine while in storage.
To avoid engine problems, the fuel system
shouldbe emptied before storage of 30 days
or longer. Drainthe gastank, startthe engine
and let itrunun_lthe fuel linesand carburetor
are empty. Use fresh fuel next season. See
Storage Instructionsfor additionalinformation.

MOWING TIPS
"Srechainscannot be used when the
mower housingis attached totractor.
Mower shouldbe propedyleveled for best
mowing performance.See =TO LEVEL
MOWER HOUSING" in the Service and
AcrjustmentssedJon ofthis manuaL
The lefthand side ofmower shouldbe
usedfor
Ddve so thatcr_0ings are dscharged onto
the area thathas been cut. Have the cut
area tothe rightofthe bactor.This will
resultin a more even distribul_ ofclip-
pingsand more uniformcuffing.
When mowing large areas, startby turning
to theright so that cr_opingswigdischarge
away fromshrubs, fences, driveways, etc.
Afterone or two rounds, mow in the oppe-
site direction makingleft hand turns untilfin-
ished.
If grass is extremely tall, itshould be
mowed twiceto reduce load and possible
fire hazard from driedclippings.Make first
cut relativelyhigh;the second tothe
de,redhe t.
Do not mow grass when itisweL Wet
grasswillplugmower and leave undesir-
able dumps. Allowgrass to dry before
mowing.
Always operate engine at full throttle
when mowing to assure better mowing
performance and proper dischargeofmate-
rial.Regulate groundspeed by selecting a
low enoughgear to givethe mower the
bestcutt_ performance as well as the
quality ofcut desired.
when operatingattachments, select a
groundspeed that willsuit the terrain and
give bestperformance of the attachment
being used.
