IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or
injury to persons, including the following:
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
1. Read all instructions.
2. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including
children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities,
or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they are closely
supervised and instructed concerning use of the appliance by a
person responsible for their safety.
3. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by
or near children. Children should be supervised to ensure that
they do not play with the appliance.
4. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use oven mitts when contact with
cooktop handles is necessary.
5. To protect against risk of electrical shock, do not immerse base,
power cord, or plug in water or other liquid.
6. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning.
Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before
cleaning the appliance.
7. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged supply cord or
plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been dropped
or damaged in any manner. Supply cord replacement and
repairs must be conducted by the manufacturer, its service
agent, or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
Contact Customer Service for information on examination,
repair, or adjustment as set forth in the Limited Warranty.
8. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the
appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
9. Do not use outdoors.
10. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter or touch hot
surfaces, including the stove.
11. Do not place appliance on or near a hot gas or electric burner,
or in a heated oven.
12. Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance
containing hot oil or other hot liquids. Use extreme caution
when removing drip tray or disposing of hot grease.
13. To disconnect, turn any control to OFF ( ) and remove plug
from wall outlet.
14. Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
15. Do not use without drip tray in place. Clean after each use.
16. Do not leave the appliance unattended when in use.
17. Always use the appliance on a dry level surface.
18. Do not operate the appliance by means of an external timer or
separate remote-control system.
19. CAUTION! In order to avoid a hazard due to inadvertent
resetting of the thermal cut-out, this appliance must not be
supplied through an external switching device, such as a timer,
or connected to a circuit that is regularly switched on and off by
the utility.
20. Do not clean base assembly with metal scouring pads. Pieces
can break off the pad and touch electrical parts, creating a risk
of electrical shock.
21. Only use removable cast iron cooktop with provided base.
