Before Leaving The Saw.
Turn the saw off.
oWait for all moving parts to stop.
Unplug the saw.
oMake workshop child-proof.
- Lock the shop.
- Disconnect master switches.
- Remove the yellow switch key. Store it away from
children and others not qualified to use the tool.
Basic Saw Operations
General Cutting
I CAUTION: For your safety, compay with all the
safety instructions on pages 2-5 before using the
band saw.
A band saw is basically a "curve cutting" machine. It is
not capable of doing inside cutting.
It is also used for straight-line cutting operations such as
crosscutting, ripping, mitering, beveling, compound cut-
ting and resawing.

Circle Cutting
1. Adjust the upper guides to vertically just clear the
workpiece.
2. Use both hands while feeding the work into the blade.
Hold the workpiece firmly against the table. Use gentle
pressure, and do not force the work, but allow the
blade to cut.
3. The smallest diameter that can be cut out is deter-
mined by the width of the blade. For example, a 1/4-
inch wide blade will cut a minimum diameter of approx-
imately 1-1/2-inch (see chart).
