BELT INSTALLATION -
o Install new belt in reverse order of
removal.
Mandrel

o Make sure belt is in all pulley grooves
and inside all belt guides.
o Install mower in reverse order of
removal instructions.

TO ADJUST BRAKE
Your tractor is equipped with an adjustable
brake system which is mounted on the
right side of the transaxle.
tf tractorrequires more than six (6) feet
stoppingdistance at high speed in high-
est gear, then brake must be adjusted.
o Depress clutch/brake pedal and engage
parkingbrake.
o Measure distance between brake oper-
ating arm and nut "A" on brake rod.
° If distance is otherthan 1-1/2", loosen
jam nut and tum nut "A" until distance
becomes 1-1/2". Retightenjam nut
against nut "A".
° Road test tractor for proper stopping
distance as stated above. Readjust if
necessary, if stoppingdistance is still
greater than six (6) feet in highest gear,
further maintenance is necessary.

vice center.
With Parking Brake "Engaged"

TO REPLACE MOTION DRIVE BELT
Park the tractor on level surface. Engage
parkingbrake. For assistance, there is a
belt installationguide decal on bottom side
of left footrest.
Remove mower (See "TO REMOVE
MOWER" in this section of this manual.)
o Remove belt from stationary idler and
clutchingidler.
o Pull belt slack toward rear of tractor.
Remove belt upwards from transaxle
pulleyby deflectingbelt keepers.
o Pull belt toward front of tractorand
remove downwards from around engine
pulley.
° Install new belt by reversing above pro-
cedure.
