Priorto operatingyoursnowthrower,carefully readand follow all
instructionsbelow. Performall adjustmentsto verifyyoursnowthrower is
operating safelyand properly.
Checktheadjustmentoftheaugercontrolasfollows:
1. Theaugercontrolislocatedon theleft handle.SeeFigure11inset.When
theaugercontrolisreleasedandinthedisengaged"up"position,the cable
shouldhaveverylittle slack.ItshouldNOTbetight.
2. Ina well-ventilatedarea,start thesnowthrowerengine.Referto Starting
theEngineintheOperationsection.
3. Whilestandinginthe operator'sposition(behindthe snowthrower),engage
theauger.
4. Allowtheaugerto remainengagedfor approximatelyten (10)seconds
beforereleasingthe augercontrol.Repeatthisseveraltimes.
5. With theaugercontrolin the disengaged"up" position,walkto the front of
themachine.
6. Confirmthat theaugerhascompletelystoppedrotatingandshowsNOsigns
of motion.IftheaugershowsANYsignsof rotating,immediatelyreturnto
theoperator'spositionandshutoff the engine.WaitforALLmovingpartsto
stopbeforeadjustingthe augercontrol.
7. Toreadjustthecontrolcable,loosenthe upperhexbolt onthe augercable
bracket.SeeFigure11.
8. Positionthebracketupwardto providemoreslack(ordownwardto increase
cabletension).
9. Retightenthe upperhexbolt.
10. Repeatsteps2-6aboveto verifyproperadjustmenthasbeenachieved.
