User manual Television

Overview Of The Television

Note: The receiving range of the remote control signal is 6 meters from the front Of the remote sensor, with a windown of 30 degrees to the left or right, and 20 degrees above or below.

Note: Some USB memory devices, such as external hard drives and some portable hard drives, require their own power supply to operate. See also the Technical Specifications section for compatible file types and storage limits.

Remote Control Operation

Installing Batteries

  1. Slide to the direction shown by the arrow to open the cover of the batteries on the back of the remote control.
  2. Load two AAA alkaline batteries in the compartment.
  3. Replace the coverof the batteries.

Precautions

Make sure that there is no obstacle between the remote control and television set.

As strong light may interfere with the signals, change your position to operate the remote control if the television cannot be turned on or off as you expect.

Keep the remote control away from heat source or humid area toensure effective performance of the remote control.

Make sure that two AAA 1.5V alkaline batteries are loaded.The batteries must be installed properly.

Remote Control Operation

Picture Menu

Press MENU button to display the main menu.

Press ◄ / ► button select PICTURE In the main menu, then press ENTER / ▼ to enter.

  1. Press ▼ / button to select the option that you want to adjust in the PICTURE menu.
  2. Press Enter/◄ / ► button to adjust.
  3. After finishing your adjustment, Press MENU button to return back to the previous menu.

Picture MODE

Press ▼ / button to select Picture Mode, then press ◄ / ► button to select.

(Available Picture mode: Standard, Mild, Personal, Dynamic).

TIPS: You can press PMODE button to change the Picture Mode directly.

Brightness/Contrast/Sharpness/Saturation/Hue

Press ▼ / button to select option, then press ◄ / ► button to adjust.

Brightness: Adjust the visual perception output of the entire picture. This will effect the luminosity of the picture.

Contrast: Adjust the highlight intensity of the picture, but the shadow of the picture is invariable.

Sharpness: Adjust the peaking in the detail of the picture.

Saturation: Adjust the saturation of the color based on your own like.

Hue:Use in compensating color changed with the transmission in the NTSC mode.

Color Temp

Change the overall color cast of the picture.

Press ▼ / button to select ColorTemp, then press ◄ / ► button to select Standard/Cool/Warm.

Standard: Produces a vivid image.

Cool: Produces a gentle blue-hued image.

Warm: Produces a red-hued image.

Aspect Ratio

Press ▼ / button to select Aspect Ratio, then press ◄ / ► button to select.

Full/4:3/16:9/Zoom1/Zoom2: To select the available display format.

Advanced Settings

Adjust advanced video features to fine tune the picture.

Press ▼ / button to select Advanced Settings, then press Enter / ►button to enter sub-menu.

NR

Set options to reduce video noise.

Press ▼ / ▲ button to select NR, then press ◄ / ► button to select. Off: Select to turn off video noise detection.

Weak: Detect and reduce low video noise.

Medium: Detect and reduce moderate video noise.

Strong: Detect and reduce enhanced video noise.

Dynamic Contrast

Automatically adjust picture detail and brightness.

Press ▼ / ▲ button to select Dynamic Contrast, then press ◄ / ► button to select.

(Available Dynamic Contrast: Off, Weak, Medium, Strong).

Sound Menu

Press MENU button to display the main menu.

Press ◄ / ► button select SOUND in the main menu, then press ENTER / ▼ to enter.

  1. Press ▼ / button to select the option that you want to adjust in the SOUND menu.
  2. Press Enter/◄ / ► button to adjust.
  3. After finishing your adjustment, Press MENU button to return back to the previous menu.

Sound Mode

Press ▼ / ▲ button to select Audio Mode, then press ◄ / ► button to select.

(Available Sound mode: Standard, Music, Personal, Movie).

TIPS: You can press SMODE button on the remote control to change the Sound Mode directly.

Standard: Produces a balanced sound in all environments.

Music: Preserves the original sound. Good for musical programs.

Personal: Select to customize picture settings.

Movie: Enhances treble and bass for a rich sound experience.

Treble/Bass/Balance

Press ▼ / ▲ button to select option, then press ◄ / ► button to adjust.

Treble: Adjust the treble effect. Increases ordecreases high-pitched sounds.

Bass: Adjust the bass effect. Increasesordecreases lower-pitched sounds.

Balance: Adjust the balance between left and right speakers to adapt to your listening position.

Surround Sound

Press ▼ / ▲ button to select Surround Sound, then press ◄ / ► button to select On or Off.

AVL

Automatically reduces sudden volume changes, for example, when switching beween thechannels. Press ▼ / ▲ button to select AVL, then press ◄ / ► button to select On or Off.

SPDIF

Press ▼ / ▲ button to select Digital Output, then press ◄ / ► button to select Off / Auto/PCM.

Audio Description

Press ▼ / ▲ button to select Audio Description , then press Enter / ► button to enter sub-menu.

Mode

Press ▼ / ▲ button to select Mode, then press ◄ / ► button to select On or Off.

When the mode is On,Volume can be adjust by users.

Sound Type

Press ▼ / ▲ button to select Sound Type, then press ◄ / ► button to select.

(Available Sound Type: Stereo, Dual I, Dual II, Mixed).

NOTE:

Balance: This item can adjust the speaker's output, it enables you to listen to best at your position. AVL: This item is used for reducing the difference between channel and program’s volume.

This function will also reduce the fluctuation of the sound.

Lock System Menu

Press MENU button to display the main menu.

Press ◄ / ► button select LOCK SYSTEM in the main menu, then press ENTER / ▼ to enter.

  1. Press ▼ / button to select the option that you want to adjust in the LOCK SYSTEM menu.
  2. Press Enter/◄ / ► button to adjust.
  3. After finishing your adjustment, Press MENU button to return back to the previous menu.

Default password is 0000, and if forget what you set, please select the New Password in the LOCK SYSTEM menu, then set the new password.

Enable

Press ▼/ ▲ button to select Enable, then press ◄ / ► button to select On or Off. Channel Locks, Parental Rating and Lock Keypad are available when Enable is On.

Channel Locks

Press ▼ / ▲ button to select Channel Locks, then press Enter button to enter sub-menu.

Parental Rating

Press ▼ / ▲ button to select Parental Rating, then press ◄ / ► button to select.

Lock Keypad

Set to prevent it from being used by young children, or other unexpected usage.

Press ▼ / ▲ button to select Lock Keypad, then press ◄ / ► button to select On or Off.

New Password

Press ▼ / ▲ button to select New Password, then enter a 4-digital number you want to set twice.

Clear Lock

Press ▼ / A button to select Clear Lock.

Setup Menu

Press MENU button to display the main menu.

Press ◄ / ► button select SETUP in the main menu, then press ENTER / ▼ to enter.

  1. Press ▼ / ▲ button to select the option that you want to adjust in the SETUP menu.
  2. Press Enter/◄ / ► button to adjust.
  3. After finishing your adjustment, Press MENU button to save and return back to the previous menu.

On-Screen Display Language

Select an OSD menu language. Default English is selected as menu language.

Press ▼ / ▲ button to select OSD Language, then press ◄ / ► button to select.

Audio Languages

Select an audio language. Default English is selected as audio language.

Press ▼ / ▲ button to select Audio Languages, then press Enter button to enter sub-menu.

Press ▼ / ▲ / ◄ / ► button to select the Audio Primary Language and Audio Secondary Language.

Subtitle

Select a subtitle language can be displayed. Default English is selected as subtitle language. Press ▼ / ▲ button to select Subtitle, then press Enter button to enter sub-menu.

Mode

Press ▼ / ▲ button to select Mode, then press ◄ / ► button to select On or Off.

Press ▼ / ▲ / ◄ / ► button to select the Subtitle Primary Language and Subtitle Secondary Language.

Hearing Impaired

Press ▼ / ▲ button to select Hearing Impaired, then press ◄ / ► button to select On or Off.

Teletext

Adjust Teletext settings. Only available under DTV, ATV, source.

Press ▼ / ▲ button to select Teletext, then press Enter / ► button to enter sub-menu.

Under DTV source, press ◄ / ► button to select Digital Teletext Language and Decoding Page Language. UnderATV, source, press ◄ / ► button to select Decoding Page Language.

Blue Screen

Press ◄ / ► Button to select blue screen, then press ◄ / ► button to select on or off.

Time Settings

Press ▼ / ▲ button to select Time Settings, then press Enter / ► button to enter sub-menu.

OSD Time

Press ▼ / ▲ button to select OSD Time, press ◄ / ► button to select.

(Available OSD Time: Off, 10seconds, 20seconds, 30seconds, 60seconds).

Sleep Timer

Set a timer for the TV to turn off automatically.

Press ▼ / ▲ button to select Sleep Timer, press ◄ / ► button to select.

(Available Sleep Timer:Off, 5mins, 15mins, 30mins, 60mins, 90mins, 120mins, 240mins).

Auto Sleep

Press ▼ / ▲ button to select Auto Sleep, press ◄ / ► button to select Off, 3 hours, 4hours or 5 hours.

Time Zone

Select your time zone.

Press ▼ / ▲ button to select Time Zone, then press Enter/ ► button to enter sub-menu.

Time

Press ▼ / ▲ button to select Time, then press Enter / ► button to enter sub-menu.

Set Auto Sync to Off, then you can set the time manually .

Note: In the case of loss of power, the clock setting will be lost.

EPG Menu

Press the button EPG in the remote control to enter EPG (Electronic Program Guide) menu.

Press the RED button to display previous date.

Press the GREEN button to display next date.

Press the ELLOW button to see the setting you have done before.

Press the BLUE button to set the time you want to remind the program you want to see.

Timeshift

Note: USB device must be connected for this feature.

Press Pause key when the program is playing under the DTV Source to start Timeshift.

The white bar indicated the recording progress. The blue bar indicated the playback progress.

PC Setting Menu

Press SOURCE button on the remote control to select PC.

Press MENU button on the remote control to display the main menu.

Press ◄ / ► button on the remote control to select PC Setup in the main menu.

  1. Press ▼ / ▲ button on the remote control to select the option that you want to adjust in the PC Setup menu.
  2. Press Enter button on the remote control to adjust.
  3. After finishing your adjustment, Press MENU button to return back to the previous menu.

Auto Adjust

Press Enter/ ► button to adjust the screen automatically to the optimal position of the picture.

H Position.

Adjust the horizontal position of the picture.

V Position.

Adjust the vertical position of the picture.

Phase

Adjust the horizontal interfering lines.

Clock

Adjust the vertical interfering lines.

Notes:

  1. Sharpness,Saturation and Advanced Settings in PICTURE menu are not available.
  2. Audio Description in SOUND menu is not available.
  3. Channel Locks and Parental Rating in LOCK menu are not available.
  4. Audio Languages, Subtitle,Teletext and PVR Settings in SETUP menu are not available.
  5. PC mode has no CHANNEL menu.

USB Operation

Note: First plug in your USB device (not included), then press SOURCE button to set the Input Source to USB. (For recording to USB, see 'Setup > PVR Settings')

Press ◄ / ► button to select USB in the Source menu, then press Enter button to enter.

Press ◄ / ► button to select PHOTO / MUSIC / MOVIE / TEXT, then press Enter button to enter.

Photo

Press ◄ / ► button to select PHOTO in the main menu, then press Enter button to enter.

Press ▼ / ▲ button to select drive disk you want to watch, then press Enter button to enter.

Press ▼ / ▲ button to select return option to back to the previous menu.

Music

Press ◄ / ► button to select MUSIC in the main menu, then press Enter button to enter.

Press ▼ / ▲ button to select drive disk you want to watch, then press Enter button to enter.

Press ▼ / ▲ button to select return option to back to the previous menu.

When highlighting the option you select, the file information will appear on the right.

Press to play or pause.
Press to play the previous song.
Press to play the next song.
Press to play backward.
Press to play faster.
Press to stop.

Press CH+/- to switch operation focus between File List and Player.

Movie

Press ◄ / ► button to select MOVIE in the main menu, then press Enter button to enter.

Press ▼ / ▲ button to select drive disk you want to watch, then press Enter button to enter.

Press ▼ / ▲ button to select return option to back to the previous menu.

Press to play or pause.
Press to view the previous movie.
Press to view the next movie.
Press to play backward.
Press to play faster.
Press to stop and back to the previous folder.

Troubleshooting

Before consulting service personnel, check the following chart for a possible cause of the trouble you are experiencing and for a solution.

PROBLEM

SOLUTION

TV will not turn on

• If your TV has a main power switch (O/l switch), make sure it is set to ON - refer to the Overview diagram for position. Note: The main power switch, if available on your TV, is separate from the standby button,

• Make sure the standby button is also turned on.

• Make sure the power cord is plugged in.

• The batteries in the remote control may be dead. Replace the batteries if necessary.

I don't receive all the available channels or am having reception problems• Your antenna may not be sensitive enough or positioned properly, especially if you are using an indoor antenna. We recommend connection to a professionally installed external antenna. Some indoor antennas may work depending on your location to the broadcasting tower, however they usually won't tune all available channels and can produce intermittent reception.
My Foxtel box (or other device) is causing problems with the TV• Try turning your TV on before turning your Foxtel box on.
No picture, no sound

• Check the interface cable between TV and antenna/cable TV.

• Press the power button on the remote.

• Press the INPUT button on the remote,then press the INPUT button repeatedly to select the TV sources.

Poor picture, sound OK

• Check the interface cable between TV and antenna/cable TV.

• Try anotherchannel.

The station may have broadcast difficulties.

• Adjust the brightness/contrast options in the Video menu.

Picture OK, Poor sound

• Sound may be muted.

Press the MUTE button on the remote,

• Press the TV button on the remote,then press the VOL+ button to increase the volume.

Audio noise• Move any infrared equipment away from the TV.
I've lost or damaged my remote control• Please call customer service to buy a new one. Please note that universal remote controls will not work with this television.
When 1 connect my computer, the outer edges get cropped out• Using the TV's menu, select “Aspect Ratio” and change the value to either “Underscan’’ or “Point to Point". Once complete, set your computer's video output to 1080p for best performance.
