OPERATION
ProtectingtheCooktop
DONOT slidecookwareacross
yourcooktop.
DONOT usea dishtowelor sponge
to cleanor wipeyourcooktop.
DONOT usescouringpowdersor
plastic, nylon,or metalcleaning
pads on yourcooktop.
DONOT applyyourcooktop
cleaning cremetothe cooktop
surface ifthesurfaceishot.
READtheinstructionlabelon the
cooktop cleaningcremebottle
beforeattemptingtocleanthe
surfaceof yourcooktop.
AFTERcleaningthe cooktop
surface,be sureto wipeoff any
residuethat may be leftfromthe
cremewith a dry papertowel.
FORMAJORspills,turnthesurface
control knobto OFF.Usea dry
paper towelto wipeup spill,then
usea razorscraper (heldwitha
potholder)at a 45° angleagainst
thesurfaceofthecooktopto
scrape remainingspillfrom the
hotcooking zone.
DONOTcook directlyon the
surfaceofthe glass.
DO NOTusethecooktopasa
cutting board.
_ AUTION: When
the surface controls
are turned off, the
Hot Surface Indicator light
will remain lit until the
cooktop surface has cooled
to approximately 150°F.
The glass ceramic surface
will retain heat after the
indicator light goes out.
Use caution until the cooktop
surface has had time to cool.

Sugarspills (suchasjellies,fudge,
candy syrups)or meltedplasticcan
cause pitting ofthecooktopsurface
unlessthespill isremovedwhileitis
still hot.Specialcareshouldbe taken
whenremovinghotsubstances.
Followtheseinstructionscarefullyand
removesoilwhilespillis hot.
1. Turnoff all surfaceunits.Remove
hotpans.
2. Wearingan ovenmitt:
a. Usethe razorscraper tomove
thespillto a coolarea onthe
cooktop.
b, Removethe spillwithpaper
towels.
3. Any remaining spillover should be
left until the surface of the cooktop
has cooled.
4. Don't usethe surfaceunitsagain
untilall of theresiduehasbeen
completelyremoved.
NOTE: Ifpitting or indentationinthe
glass surfacehasalreadyoccurred,
the cooktopglasswill haveto be
replaced. Inthis case,servicewillbe
necessary.
