Preparing for use
Charge indications
Battery low
The battery status is indicated by the
performance of the product. When the
product starts working more slowly, the
battery is almost empty and needs to be
charged for optimal performance.
Charging
When you charge the product, the
charging indicator lights up green
continuously to indicate that the product
is charging (Fig. 3).
Note: An adapter plug may be necessary
for cord usage in some foreign countries.
Use an attachment plug adapter of the
proper conguration for power outlet.
Charging
Charge the product for at least 8 hours
before you use it for the rst time, after
a long period of non-use or when the
motor starts to run more slowly during hair
clipping.
- Charging, recharging, or using the
product at temperatures below 40°F
(4,5°C) or higher than 95°F (35°C)
adversely aects lifespan of the battery.
- If the product is subjected to a major
change in temperature, pressure or
humidity, let the product acclimatize for
30 minutes before using.
1 Switch o the product.
2 Insert the small plug into the product
and put the power cord in any 120V AC
outlet (Fig. 2).
- After a few seconds, the charging
indicator lights up green continuously
to indicate that the product is charging
(Fig. 3).
- Charging the product takes
approximately 8 hours.
- The charging light does not change
color and does not go out when the
product is fully charged.
3 After charging, remove the power cord
from the electrical outlet and pull the
small plug out of the product.
When fully charged, the product has
a cordless operating time of up to
45 minutes.
Optimizing the working life of the
battery
- After the product has been charged
for the rst time, do not recharge the
product between clipping sessions.
Continue using it until the battery is
completely empty.
- Do not charge for more than 24 hours.
- Do not keep cord permanently plugged in.
- Discharge/run down the battery
completely twice a year by letting the
motor run until it stops.
- If the product hasn‘t been used for
a long period of time, it must be
recharged for a full 8 hours.
Using the product
Always check the product and all accessories
before using. Do not use the product or any
accessory if it is damaged, as this may cause
injury. Always replace a damaged part with
one of the original type.
- Use this product for its intended
household use as described in this
manual.
- Hair clipping is easier when the skin and
hair are dry.
- Be careful when clipping without a
comb as the product will trim every hair
it touches when it is turned on.
- Turn o and clean the product after
each use (see ‘Cleaning’).
Note: This product can be used without
cord or when it is connected to the
electrical outlet (Fig. 4).

Push the on/o switch up to turn the
product on or down to turn the product o
(Fig. 5).
Removing or attaching combs
1 To remove a comb, push one lug
backwards o the product until the
comb detaches from the product (Fig. 6).
2 To attach a comb, make sure the side
with the desired hair length points
upwards. Fit one of the projections on
the inside of the lug into the small hole
on the side of the product. Push the
other lug of the comb into place (‘click’)
(Fig. 7).
Note: Make sure that the lugs of the
comb have been attached properly into
the holes on both sides of the product.
Before use
- This product is only intended for
clipping human scalp hair. Do not use it
for another purpose.
- Make sure the hair is clean and dry.
Do not use the product on wet hair.
- Make sure the head of the person
whose hair you are cutting is at the
same level as your chest. This ensures
that all parts of the head are clearly
visible and within easy reach.
Hair clipping tips
- To clip most eectively, move the
product against the hair growth
direction.
- Move the product in dierent directions
(upward, downward or across) to
achieve an even result.
- Make overlapping passes over the head
to ensure that the product catches all
the hairs that need to be cut.
- Write down which comb(s) you use to
create a certain hairstyle as a reminder
for future clipping sessions.
- Regularly remove cut hair from the
comb. If a lot of hair has accumulated
in the comb, remove it from the product
and blow and/or shake out the hairs.
You can also rinse the product under
the tap.
Hair clipping with a comb
Note:When you clip hair for the rst time,
start with the comb with the highest length
to familiarize yourself with the product.
The product comes with dierent hair combs.
Each side of each comb cuts to a dierent
xed hair length. The indication on the
inside of each comb corresponds to the
remaining hair length after clipping.

1 Comb the hair in the direction of hair
growth.
2 Attach the desired comb onto the
product.
3 To clip the hair, move the product
through the hair slowly. Make sure
that the at part of the comb is in full
contact with the scalp to obtain an even
cutting result (Fig. 8).
4 Switch o and clean the product after
each use (see ‘Cleaning’).
Hair clipping without a comb
Use the product without a comb to clip the
hair very close to the skin (1/32in./0.5mm)
or to contour the neckline and area around
the ears.
