Moving and Lifting the Monitor
When moving or lifting the monitor, follow these in-
structions to prevent the monitor from being scratched
or damaged and to ensure safe transportation regard-
less of its shape or size.

As far as possible, avoid touching the monitor screen.
This may result in damage to the screen or some of
the pixels used to create images.
y
It is advisable to place the monitor in the original box
or packing material before attempting to move it.
y
Before moving or lifting the monitor, disconnect the
power cord and all cables.
y
Hold the top and bottom of the monitor frame firmly.
Do not hold the panel itself.
y
When holding the monitor, the screen should face
away from you to prevent it being scratched.
y
When moving the monitor, avoid any strong shock or
vibrations to the product.
y
When moving the monitor, keep it upright, never turn
the monitor on its side or tilt it sideways.

Mounting on a table

Lift and tilt the Monitor set into its upright position
on a table.
Leave a 100 mm (minimum) space from the wall for
proper ventilation.

Connect the Power cord to the monitor, then plug
the power cord into the wall outlet.

Arrange the cables using the cable holder as shown
in the illustration.
Rotate Set(Pivot) and put connectors. It is easy
to put connectors and manage cables using cable
holder.

Adjusting the angle

Place the monitor in an upright position, mounted
on the stand base.

Adjust the angle of the screen. The angle of the
screen can be adjusted forwards or backwards for a
comfortable viewing experience.

Pivot Feature
The pivot feature allows the monitor to rotate 90°
clockwise and -90° counter clockwise.

Raise the monitor to the maximum height.

Adjust the angle of the monitor in the direction of
the arrow as shown in the figure.

Rotate the monitor 90° clockwise and -90° counter
clockwise as shown in the figure.

Complete the installation by rotating the monitor

Auto Pivot feature of the display is not supported.

The screen can be rotated easily using the screen-
pivot shortcut key provided with your Windows op-
erating system. Note that some Windows versions
and some graphics card drivers may use different
settings for the screen pivot key or may not sup-
port the pivot key at all.

Detaching the Stand Body
Using the Kensington security system
The Kensington security system connector is located at the
back of the Monitor set. For more information of installation
and using, refer to the manual supplied with the Kensington
security system or visit
http://www.kensington.com
.
Connect the Kensington security system cable between the
Monitor set and a table.
y
Use of the Kensington lock is optional. The
accessories can be purchased at your local
electronics store.
NOTE
Installing the wall mount plate
This monitor supports the specification of the standard
wall mount plate or compatible device.

Place the screen face down. To protect the screen
from scratches, cover the surface with a soft cloth.

Detaching the Stand Body.

Place the wall mount plate onto the monitor and
align it with the screw holes.

Tighten the four screws to fix the plate to the moni-
tor using a screwdriver.

Remove the stand from the monitor by pressing
the button on the bottom center of the back of the
monitor.

The wall mount plate is sold separately.

To install the monitor to a wall, attach a wall mounting bracket
(optional) to the back of the monitor.
Make sure that the wall mounting bracket is securely fixed to
the monitor and to the wall.
1 If you use screw longer than standard, the monitor might
be damaged internally.
2 If you use improper screw, the product might be damaged
and drop from mounted position.
In this case, LG Electronics is not responsible for it.
Installing to a wall
Install the monitor at least 100 mm away from the wall
and leave about 100 mm of space at each side of the
monitor to ensure sufficient ventilation. Detailed instal-
lation instructions can be obtained from your local retail
store. Please refer to the manual to install and set up a
tilting wall mounting bracket.

Unplug the power cord before moving or installing
the monitor to avoid electric shocks.

Installing the monitor on the ceiling or on a slanted
wall may result in the monitor falling off, which
could lead to injury. Please use the genuine LG wall
mounting bracket. For more information, contact

Applying excessive force when fastening screws may
cause damage to the monitor. Damage caused in this
way will not be covered by the product warranty.

Use the wall mounting bracket and screws that
conform to the VESA standard. Damage caused by
the use or misuse of inappropriate components will

Screw length from outer surface of back cover should
be under 8mm.

all necessary parts.

USING THE MONITOR SET
Connecting to a PC
y
Your Monitor set supports Plug & Play*.
*Plug & Play: A PC recognizes a connected device
that users connect to a PC and turn on, without
device configuration or user intervention.
HDMI connection
Transmits the digital video and audio signals from
your PC to the Monitor set. Connect the PC and the
Monitor set with the HDMI cable as shown in the following
illustrations.
DVI-D connection
Transmits a digital video signal from your PC to the
Monitor set. Connect the PC and the Monitor set with a
DVI cable as shown in the following illustrations.

If you use HDMI PC, it can cause compatibility problem.
y
Use a certified cable with the HDMI logo attached. If
you do not use a certified HDMI cable, the screen may
not display or a connection error may occur.

DisplayPort connection
Transmits the digital video and audio signals from your
PC to the monitor. Connect your PC to the monitor
using the DisplayPort cable as illustrated below.
Connecting the monitor for DP Multi-
Stream Transport (MST) function
y
There may be no video or audio output depending
on the DP version of the PC.
y
If you use generic cables not certified by LG, the
screen may not display or there may be image
noises.
y
For supporting DP MST feature, your PC
graphics card must be certified to DP1.2 and
MST Option.
y
To enable MST connection, use DP cable as
provided in box (or other DP1.2 certified
cable) and change the DP setting to enable the
DisplayPort 1.2 in Monitor Menu.
y
The default out of factory setting is DP1.1a
(Disable the DisplayPort 1.2)
y
When using MST, many monitor cannot be
adjusted for OSD at the same time. Please
change the monitor settings.
y
MST with DisplayPort can be supported up to 4

Connecting to AV Devices
HDMI connection

The ratio is disabled in the interlaced signal.

Saving Data depends on the Panel. So,those values should be different from each panel and panel vendor. If
you select the option of SMART ENERGY SAVING is High or Low, monitor luminance become lower or higher
depend on source.

Customizing settings

INPUT Sets input mode. You can operate the change of input signals.
• When two input signals over are connected and press input key, input signal(DVI/HDMI/DP)will be changed

• When only one signal is connected, it is automatically detected. The default setting is DVI.

Power Indicator When the monitor is in operating mode, the power indicator will turn white (on mode).

Customizing settings
Menu > Picture Description
Picture Mode Custom Allow s the user to adjust each element. The color mode of the main menu can be adjusted.
Reader 1 It is a mode that the screen is adjusted to the best for the newspaper. If you want screen more
bright, you can control brightness in Menu OSD.
Reader 2 It is a mode that the screen is adjusted to the best for the cartoon. If you want screen more bright,
you can control brightness in Menu OSD.
Photo Optimizes the screen to view photos.
Cinema Optimizes the screen to improve the visual effects of a video.
Color
Weakness
This mode is for users who cannot distinguish between red and green. It enables users with color
weakness to easily distinguish between the two colors.
Game Optimizes the screen for gameplay.
Picture Adjust SUPER
RESOLU-
TION+
High Optimized picture quality is displayed when a user wants crystal clear images. It is effec-
tive forhigh quality video or game.
Middle The optimized picture quality is displayed when a user wants images between low and
high modes for comfortable viewing. It is effective for UCC or SD video.
Low The optimized picture quality is displayed when a user wants smooth and natural images.
It is effective for slow -moving pictures or still images.
Off Select this option for everyday viewing. SUPER RESOLUTION+ is turned off in this mode.
Sharpness Adjusts the sharpness of the screen.
Black Level Sets the offset level (for HDMI only).
y
Offset: as a reference for a video signal, this is the darkest color the monitor can display.
High Keeps the current contrast ratio of the screen.
Low Low ers the black levels and raises the white levels from the current contrast ratio of the screen.
Response
Time
Sets a response time for displayed pictures based on the speed of the screen. For a normal
environment, it is recommended that you use Normal. For a fast-moving picture, it is recommended
that you use High. Setting to High may cause image sticking.
High Sets the response time to High.
Middle Sets the response time to Middle.
Low Sets the response time to Low .
Off Sets the response time to Off.
DFC On Adjusts the brightness automatically according to the screen.
Off Disables the DFC feature.
Black
Stabilizer
Black Stabilizer:
You can control the black contrast to have better visibility in dark scenes.
Increasing the Black Stabilizer value brightens the low gray level area on the screen.
(You can easily distinguish objects on dark game screens.)
Reducing the Black Stabilizer value darkens the low gray level area and increases the dynamic
contrast on the screen.
Color Adjust Gamma The higher the gamma value, the darker the image becomes. Likewise, the lower the gamma value, the
lighter the image becomes. If you do not need to adjust the gamma settings, select Off.
Color Temp Selects the factory default picture color.
Warm: Sets the screen color to a reddish tone.
Medium: Sets the screen color between a red and blue tone.
Cool: Sets the screen color to a bluish tone.
Custom: The user can adjust it to red, green or blue by customization.

Blue
You can customize the picture color using Red, Green, and Blue colors.
Six Color Meets the user requirements for colors through adjusting the color and saturation of the six
colors(Red_Hue, Red_Saturation, Green_Hue, Green_Saturation, Blue_Hue, Blue_Saturation, Cyan_Hue,
Cyan_Saturation, Magenta_Hue, Magenta_Saturation, Yellow_Hue, Yellow_Saturation) and saving the
Six Color settings.
*Hue: Adjusts tone of the screen.
*Saturation: Adjusts the saturation of the screen colors. The lower the value, less saturated and bright
the colors become. The higher the value, the more saturated and dark the colors become.
Reset Returns the color settings to the default settings.
NOTE
y
This is subsidiary for color weakness user. Therefore if you feel uncomfortable with the screen, please turn off
this function.
y
This function can’t distinguish some colors in some images.

Volume To adjust the Volume of headphone or speaker.
Main Audio To choose the audio source input.
Menu > General Description
Language To choose the language in which the control names are displayed.
Power LED Turns the power indicator on the front side of the monitor on/off.
On The power indicator is automatically turned on.
Off The power indicator is turned off.
Automatic Standby The monitor will automatically switch to standby mode after a certain period.
DisplayPort 1.2 Enables or disables DisplayPort 1.2.
NOTE
y
Be sure to configure this option according to the DisplayPort version supported by your graph-
ics card. Set this option to Disable if your graphics card does not support DisplayPort 1.2.
Quick Charge Quick Charge is a feature that rapidly charges the device connected to the USB 3.0 port.
On Enables Quick Charge.
Off Disables Quick Charge.
NOTE
y
Quick charge is only available through the USB Port 1.
y
The charging speed may vary depending on the device.
OSD Lock Prevents incorrect key input.
On Key input is disabled.
NOTE
y
All function except for the OSD Lock mode, brightness, Contrast, Input and Volume are dis-
abled.
Off Key input is enabled.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Check the following before calling for service.
No image appears
Is the power cord of the display
connected?
y
Check and see if the power cord is connected properly to the power outlet.
Is the power indicator light on?
y
Press the Power button.
Do you see an "Out of Range"
message on the screen?
y
This message appears when the signal from the PC (video card) is out of horizontal
or vertical frequency range of the display. See the 'Specifications' section of this
manual and configure your display again.
Do you see a "NO SIGNAL" message on
the screen?
y
After the monitor is on "NO SIGNAL", the monitor goes to DPM mode.
y
This is displayed when the signal cable between the PC and the monitor is
missing or disconnected. Check the cable and reconnect it.
y
If monitor is DPM with power LED off condition,user should be press twice
DC button for wake up monitor screen.
Can 't you control some functions in OSD?
Can't you select some menu in
OSD?
y
You can unlock the OSD controls at any time by entering the OSD lock menu and
changing items to off.
y
Check Control Panel
Display
Settings and see if the frequency or the resolution were changed. If yes, readjust the
video card to the recommend resolution.
y
If the recommended resolution (optimal resolution) is not selected, letters may be blurred and the screen may be dimmed,
truncated or biased. Make sure to select the recommend resolution.
y
The setting method can differ by computer and O/S (Operation System), and resolution mentioned above may not be
supported by the video card performance. In this case, please ask to the computer or the video card manufacturer.
CAUTION
The screen is flickering.
Did you select the recommended
resolution?
y
If the selected resolution is HDMI 1080i 60/50 Hz, the screen may be flickering.
Change the resolution to the recommended resolution 1080P.
Display image is incorrect
The screen color is mono or abnormal.
y
Check if the signal cable is properly connected and use a screwdriver to fasten if
necessary.
y
Make sure the video card is properly inserted in the slot.
y
Set the color setting higher than 24 bits (true color) at Control Panel
Settings.
The screen blinks.
y
Check if the screen is set to interlace mode and if yes, change it to the recommend
resolution.
