Aperture Values ([M] Mode)

Movies
Follow these steps before shooting to set your preferred shutter speed
and aperture value to obtain the desired exposure.
For details on available shutter speeds, see “Shutter” (
=
185). Available
aperture values vary by lens.
1
Enter [ ] mode.
Follow step 1 in “Shooting in Hybrid Auto
Mode” (
=
37) and choose [ ].
2
Congure the setting.
Press the [ ] button, choose adjustment
of shutter speed (1) or aperture value (2),
and when [ ] is displayed, turn the
[ ] dial to set a value.
Touch [ ] and either touch/drag
the bar or touch [ ][ ] to set the ISO
speed (3).
When the ISO speed is xed, an
exposure level mark (5) based on
your specied values is shown on the
exposure level indicator for comparison
to the standard exposure level (4). The
exposure level mark is shown as [ ] or
[ ] when the difference from standard
exposure exceeds 3 stops.
Depth-of-Field Preview
The aperture changes only at the moment you shoot, and it remains open
at other times. For this reason, the depth of eld shown on the screen
looks narrow, or shallow. To check the actual depth of eld, assign [Depth-
of-eld preview] to the movie button (
=
90) and press it.
