3. Pull on the fuel fill door release
handle under the driver’s side lower
outside corner of the dashboard .
The fuel fill door opens.
4. Remove the fuel fill cap slowly. If
you hear a release of air, wait until
this stops, then turn the knob slowly
to open the fuel fill cap. Place the
fuel fill cap in the holder.
5. Insert the fuel filler nozzle fully.
When the tank is full, the filler
nozzle will click off automatically.
This leaves space in the fuel tank in
case the fuel expands with a
change in the temperature.
6. After filling, replace the fuel fill cap,
tightening it until you hear it click at
least once. Shut the fuel fill door by
hand.
Gasoline is highly flammable and explosive. You can be burned or seriously
injured when handling fuel.
Stop the engine, and keep heat, sparks, and flame away.
Handle fuel only outdoors.
Wipe up spills immediately.

Smart Entry System Battery Strength
If the battery life in your remote transmitter is weak, a message appears in the
display with information on how to start the engine.
1. Touch the back of the remote
transmitter to the ENGINE START/STOP
button while the indicator is flashing.
2. With the brake pedal pressed, press the
ENGINE START/STOP button within 10
seconds.
When you carry the remote transmitter (for
example, in a pocket or purse) and it is
outside the vehicle and within range (about 32 inches or 80 cm), you can lock or
unlock the doors and the tailgate without handling the transmitter.
Shift Lever Does Not Move
Follow the procedure below if you cannot move the shift lever out of Park (P).
1. Set the parking brake.
2. Models without smart entry system - remove the key from the ignition
switch.
Models with smart entry system - remove the built-in key from the smart
entry remote.
3. Wrap a cloth around the tip of a small flat-tip screwdriver. Put it into the shift
lock release slot (as shown) and remove the cover.
4. Insert the key into the shift lock release slot.
