Why won't it spin?
How to use soak cycle
If you would like to manually soak your garments at any time during the wash portion of the cycle, press START/Pause and leave the lid closed. Once your desired soak time has elapsed, press START/Pause again to continue the cycle. As long as the lid remains closed, your soak time can be longer than 10 minutes. However, if the lid is opened during the soak and remains open for more than 10 minutes, the water will pump out automatically.
WTW4816FW If I select COLD WASH on CYCLE does that overide water temperature setting or do I select COLD water on CYCLE and also COLD WASH on TEMPERATURE?
Why does the wash basket sink down 4 inches when water is filled?
Does the cap have to be taken off the filter before water goes in?

I raise lid up and put it back down when don't start right away and then it start up
The thing in the middle of the basket where you put the softener stinks and has farm mold looking stuff in it and under it that seeps out into the load it’s nasty! How do I manually remove that to clean it?

How do I start the washer?
I purchased a new Whirlpool top loading washer - WTW 4816FW2 . I am so confused about how to use it with all the dials and etc. My previous older washer was also a Whirlpool and I love how simple and easy it was to use and operate. However, I am very unhappy with this one simply because I don't understand how to use it. Is there a detailed but simply way for me to learn exactly what to do in HOW or what steps to take in doing a basic load of laundry. It is too complicated and confusing to me. I was so happy with my old Whirlpool but regret buying another one due to it not being as easy and uncomplicated as my previous one.

Ann, I bought the same machine and did not thank it was working right and call and had come check it and they did and man said that way it supposed to work. I am like you I like old one best.
I HAVE CALLED THE TECHNICIAN SEVERAL TIMES AND IT WORKS FOR A WHILE THEN IT IS AGAIN DOING THE OLD THING WHICH IS NO WAY TO MAKE THE MACHINE DO WHAT YOU WANT--IT HAS ITS OWN EVIL BRAIN
Sensing light keeps flashing even after holding 3 seconds and nothing happens?

It would will not wash, but it rinse spin it new. Purchased 3/10. What to do? Model wtw4816fw
I push the start button and nothing happens. No lights come on
In the wash and rinse cycle, it will make a very loud grinding noise just when it turns one way(not sure if it's the left or right). It spins fine.. Can you give me some things to check.
