My ice maker stopped making ice, there’s a brownish stain coming from upper right corner behind the ice making rods. Is that maybe refrigerant leak?
How to clean
To clean your ice maker:
- Clean the interior with diluted detergent, warm water, and a soft cloth, then rinse with clear water.
- Take out the ice basket and clean it.
- Unplug the water drain cap to remove all water.
Clean the ice maker at least once a week or every three days if your water quality is poor. Do not use bleach or vinegar to clean the internal components.
My icemaker is 18 months old. It started making WAY too much ice, filling up the entire space up to the cover. That was tolerable, but now the little "dumping shovel" keeps going "tick tick tick" and the machine doesn't work.
