    unit's fan runs, but compressor does not. Has worked fine for 2-3 years. After 5 mins. of running, get error code EC. Room temp. is 70 deg.

    Make sure that the room ambient temperature matches the recommended operating temperature for the unit, 5°C (41°F) - 35°C (95°F). If the "EC" code persists, call for service.
