    why is it so hard to reset cooling off switch back to on.

    Just moved into a apt and the previous owner has turned the ice maker off citing too noisy. Checked the manual to turn ice make back on but does not show the same as manual. However it does show a button to push to remove cover. but that does not work. Door comp show ice make off. I am not sure what to do now. Thank you any help would be appreciated.
