FUNCTION DESCRIPTION

Suitable and unsuitable pots and containers

It’s necessary to use suitable pots and containers on the cooktop. You can test with a magnet: If the magnet attracts the base of the pot, it is suitable for induction cooking. Refer to the following description for suitable pots and containers:

The suitable cookware is required to contain magnetic induction material. Other cookware can not guarantee the best results and performance.

You can use cookware with a diameter between 14.5 and 18 cm.

Safety protection

• Over-heating protection. If the temperature inside the Induction Cooktop is too high, the appliance will stop working.
• Current or voltage abnormality protection. If the voltage is abnormal or the current changes abruptly, the Induction cooktop will stop working. Once the issues are solved, the Induction cooktop will work again normally.
• Container detection system. If the pot is moved during cooking, the appliance will stop heating immediately. In about 10 seconds it will automatically return to Power on mode.
• Automatic shutdown protection. When the time selected is reached, the Induction cooktop will shut off automatically until the user activates the timer again.
• Child lock (10). This function locks all the control panel operations except the Power on button for quick cleaning. This protects children from potential risks.

UNPACKING YOUR INDUCTION COOKTOP

1. Before using the appliance for the first time, be sure that it is placed vertically at least 10 cm away from all sides of the wall, curtains, etc.
2. Use an individual socket with more than 12.5A capacity. Never use a universal socket or shared socket with other appliances. If the use of a multiple socket is indispensable, make sure that those elements respect the limit power.
3. When using the appliance you will hear noises due to high frequency electromagnetic waves. This is normal.

CONTROL PANEL OPERATION

1. After connecting to power supply, you will hear a buzz and see “L” blinking on the screen. Press Power on/Standby (7) button to enter into the standby mode.
2. Select the power intensity by pressing the + (8) or – (9) button, or slide your finger on the power intensity slider. The intensity light will show you the power level.

Warning: Never place any object on the ceramic plate before switching on the appliance.

Note:

• The Control panel is touch sensitive. There is no need to press with pressure.
• The Control panel must be clean, dry and shall not be covered by any object or cloth; even a small amount of water can cause malfunction.
• Under the Standby mode, if no function button is pressed in about 10 seconds, the Induction

Cooktop will switch off automatically.

• Under one of the working modes, if no pot is placed on the ceramic plate, the Induction

Cooktop will switch off automatically a few seconds later (no more than 10 seconds).

Timer

• Press the Timer button (3) to activate the timer function. The digital screen will show 0 : 00.
• Press the +/- button to adjust the cooking time. Each press increases or decreases time by 1 minute. If you press and hold the button, it will increase or decrease by 10 minutes. The timer range can be set between 1 minute and 180 minutes. Once it is set, the digital screen will flash for 5 seconds before heating.
• To cancel the timer function, press again on the Timer button.
• The timer function can be used in combination with Keep warm and Simmer modes.

Keep warm mode

• During cooking, press the Keep warm button (1) to keep your food warm. The cooktop will work automatically on the lowest power and stop after 120 minutes. To start the heating process, simply press “+”, “-“ or slide to activate.

Simmer mode

• Press the Simmer button (2) to start simmer, you will see the Simmer light up on the screen.

The default power level is level 2. Press “+”, “-“ or slide to enter into the power mode.

Fry mode

Press the fry button (4) to start frying, you will see the Fry light up on the screen. The default power level is level 10. Press “+”, “-“ or slide to enter into the power mode.

Boil mode

• To activate Boil Mode press the Boil button (5), you will see the Boil light up on the screen.

The default power level is level 10, and working time is 30 minutes. Press “+”, “-“ or slide again to enter into the power mode.

Note: Keep the liquid level between 30% and 80% of the pot capacity for safe use.

Boost mode

• The Boost button (6) boosts the cooktop to work under the highest power level. Press again to return to the original power setting. Press “+”, “-“ or slide to enter into the power mode.

Child lock mode

• To lock the Control panel during cooking, press Child lock button (10). The indicator “Lock” will appear on the screen. In this mode, only the Power on/Standby button (7) can be used to switch off the appliance. To unlock the Control panel, press and hold the Child lock button for 3 seconds.

Switching off the appliance

• After use, the indicator “H” flashes on the screen, meaning the cooktop is hot. To switch off the appliance, press the Power on/Standby button (7) and unplug from the power supply.

Note: This unit has 10 separate heating levels, please refer to the following table for the wattage of each level.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

WARNING: Before cleaning or maintenance, unplug the Induction Cooktop from the main power supply. Let it cool down before cleaning.

CAUTION: Never clean the surface of the Induction Cooktop with a rigid brush. Never immerse the cooktop in the water. Never maintain it with a steam cleaner.

Cleaning the Ceramic Plate and the Control Panel

Use a soft wet cloth for slight dust and a soft wet cloth dipped with toothpaste or mild detergent to remove the oily dirt.

Cleaning the Air Entry and Air Vent

After using the cooktop for a long time, some dust or dirt may accumulate at the air entry or vent. Use a flexible brush or mild detergent to clean it. Wipe dry with a soft dry cloth.

TROUBLESHOOTING

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using your hOme™ Induction Cooktop (appliance), basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock, and/or injury to persons. Incorrect operation due to ignoring instructions may cause harm or damage.

• Read all instructions.
• Use this appliance only for its intended purpose as described in this manual.
• Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or wear gloves.
• Do not cook when the appliance is broken or otherwise malfunctioning. When the surface of the cooktop breaks, cleaning solutions and spills may penetrate the cooktop and create a risk of electric shock.
• If a wet sponge or cloth is used to wipe spills on the hot cooking area, be careful to avoid steam burns. Some cleaners can produce toxic fumes if applied to a hot surface.
• Do not clean your Induction Cooktop with flammable fluids. The fumes can create a fire hazard or explosion.
• Do not place metal objects such as knives, forks, spoons and lids on the appliance since they can get hot.
• The appliance must be positioned so that the plug is accessible.
• The appliance must be placed on a flat, firm and dry surface. Never move the appliance when it is in use.
• This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
• Do not run the power cord over carpeting or other heat insulators. Do not cover the cord.

Keep the cord away from traffic areas, and do not submerge in water or any other liquid.

• We do not recommend the use of an extension cord as it may overheat and cause a risk of fire.
• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
• Disconnect the mains plug from the socket when not in use for a long time.
• Unplug the appliance before cleaning or making any repairs or servicing.
• Never unplug your appliance by pulling on the power cord. Always grasp the plug firmly and pull straight out from the outlet.
• Do not use your appliance outdoors.

WARNING:

• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they are given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. Unit includes Child Lock feature, for more information refer to page 16 in manual.
• This appliance is intended to be used in household only.
• To avoid the appliance falling or tipping over, always place on a flat and sturdy surface.

Damage may occur if the appliance falls.

• A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
• Extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.
• If an extension cord is used, (1) the marked electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least as great as electrical rating of the appliance, and (2) the longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter or table top where it could be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.

• This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for Consumer ISM equipment, pursuant to Part 18 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation.
