The exhaust comes out of the top thru a rectangle measuring 7" x 1.75". My face seems to be 59" above the floor. I can feel it on my face in an area approximately 30 to 36" by maybe about 2 feet. If you look at the photo of the canister standing with the handle at the top, and call the handle the "top", the 36" spread of the air is from side to side. My experience is that feeling or breathing the exhaust is not unpleasant; however, I do not have allergies.
