1. Do tablets pose a health hazard?
Theavailablescientificevidencedoesnotshowthatanyhealthproblemsareassociated
withusingtablets.
Thereisnoproof,however,thattabletsareabsolutelysafe.Tabletsemitlowlevels
ofRadioFrequency(RF)energyinthemicrowaverangewhilebeingused.Theyalso
emitverylowlevelsofRFwheninidlemode.WhereashighlevelsofRFcanproduce
healtheffects(byheatingtissue),exposuretolowlevelRFthatdoesnotproduce
heatingeffectscausesnoknownadversehealtheffects.Manystudiesoflowlevel
RFexposureshavenotfoundanybiologicaleffects.Somestudieshavesuggested
thatsomebiologicaleffectsmayoccur,butsuchfindingshavenotbeenconfirmedby
additionalresearch.Insomecases,otherresearchershavehaddifficultyinreproducing
thosestudies,orindeterminingthereasonsforinconsistentresults.
