Connect the power

confirm the hardware is connected correctly.

Note: If the 2.4GHz LED and 5GHz LED are off, press and hold the
WPS/Wi-Fi On/Off button on the back for about 3 seconds, then
release the button. Both LEDs will turn on.

#1 Is this wifi 6 compatible?

No, This is an AC or WiFi 5 router.

#2 How can i use this as a wifi adapter to provide internet to a computer using its ethernet port in my basement if i already have wifi at my house?

No, the Archer A6 is designed to operate in Router Mode or Access Point Mode. If you would prefer to receive WiFi via Ethernet, we would suggest considering one of our Multifunction Travel Routers, such as the TL-WR902AC, which can operate in Client Mode.

#3 Does this need to be activated by my internet provider?

No, your modem is what needs to be activated by your ISP. This router connects to your modem via Ethernet to provide your home with reliable, dual-band AC1200 WiFi connectivity.

#4 Can I connect this to another wireless router (using a cable) to form a second wireless network with a different password?

Yes you would put this in AP mode.

#5 is the router suitable for optical fiber?

You would not be able to connect Optical Fiber to the router, but it will work with Fiber service via ethernet cable.
