The documentation I received on this lock shows it can install either LH or RH. The instructions state that by rotating piece of the lock during install you can change this lock from RH to LH. The lock I received came as a LH lock. See previous comment.

I am running through a separate hub (wink) and I can add or delete codes and see if the lock is open or locked. I can't lock or unlock. Maybe I don't have all the moxie that I need. I guess that I have to get a grade school grandchild to assist me.

I can't get a precise measurement because of the way the unit is constructed. If I measure from the outside latch to the middle of the plate which is screwed through the door it appears to be 8 1/2"

You can check to see if it is locked, and you lock it using Alexa if you have it connected to a smart home hub. For security reasons, you cannot unock any smart device via Alexa at this time. I love this smart lock, but I have to say that it is much easier to manage if you have a Wink Hub and App. With wink, you can more easily manage user codes and set up auto locking.

You can key in any code you want. It comes with a common manufacturer code upon installing but you then can change to any code. We are a family of 4 and we each have our unique code...for just one handle on front door.

Not sure we only bought nexia / schlage products. I do love the lock and haven't had any issues with it. We use our Iphones to operate the system. Lock/ Cameras/ Lights
