thoroughly clean your brush head and
handle with soap and water after each
use. Otherwise plastic cracking may
occur.

oral or gum surgery in the previous 2
months.
2 Contact your dental professional if
excessive bleeding occurs after using
this product or bleeding continues to
occur after 1 week of use.
3 Discontinue use of this product
and contact a physician/dentist if
discomfort or pain is experienced.
4 This product complies with the
safety standards for electromagnetic
devices. If you have a pacemaker or
other implanted device, contact your
physician or the device manufacturer
prior to use.
5 Consult your physician if you have

Intended Use
DailyClean series power toothbrushes are intended
to remove adherent plaque and food debris from
the teeth to reduce tooth decay and improve and
maintain oral health. DailyClean series power
toothbrushes are intended for consumer home use.
Use by children should be with adult supervision.

This Philips appliance complies with all standards
regarding electromagnetic elds (EMF). If handled
properly and according to the instructions in this
user manual, the appliance is safe to use based on
scientic evidence available today.

READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE
When using electrical products, especially when
children are present, basic safety precautions
should always be followed, including the following:
DANGERS
To reduce the risk of electrocution:
- Keep the charger away from water.
- Do not place or store product where it can fall or
be pulled into a tub or sink.
- Do not place in or drop into water or other liquid.
- Do not immerse the charger in water or any
other liquid.
- Do not use while bathing.
- Do not reach for a product that has fallen into
water. Unplug immediately.
- After cleaning, make sure the charger is
completely dry before you connect it to the
mains.
WARNINGS
To reduce the risk of burns, electrocution, re or
injury to persons:
1 Do not clean the brush head, the
handle or the charger in the dishwasher.
2 Do not use attachments other
than those recommended by the
manufacturer.
3 Do not plug into an outlet with a
voltage other than specied on the
bottom of the product. This product is
designed to operate within a range of
100 to 240 volts. Voltage converters do
not warrant voltage compatibility.
4 Never force the plug into an outlet;
if the plug does not easily t into the
outlet, discontinue use.
5 Discontinue use if the product appears
damaged in any way (brush head,
handle or charger, etc.).
6 The power cord cannot be replaced. If
the power cord is damaged, discard the
charger.
7 Always have the charger replaced with
one of the original type in order to
avoid a hazard.
8 Keep the cord away from heated
surfaces.
9 Do not use the base charger outdoors.
10 Do not use the charger if dropped into
water.
11 This product contains no user-
serviceable parts. Refer to ‘Warranty
and support’ if the product no longer
works properly or needs repair.
12 Keep the Philips Sonicare out of direct
sunlight.
13 Use this product only for its intended
use as described in this document
or as recommended by your dental
professional.
14 This product is not intended for use
by persons (including children) with
reduced physical, sensory, or mental
capabilities, or lack of experience
and knowledge, unless they have
been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the appliance by a
person responsible for their safety.

Getting started
Attaching the brush head
1 Align the brush head so the bristles
point in the same direction as the front
of the handle.
2 Firmly press the brush head down onto
the metal shaft until it stops (Fig. 2).
Note: Philips Sonicare brush heads are
imprinted with icons to easily identify your
brush head (Fig. 3).
Charging your Philips Sonicare
1 Plug the charger into a live electrical
outlet.
2 Place the handle on the charger.
- The light of the battery level indicator
ashes and the appliance beeps twice.
This indicates that the toothbrush is
charging.
Note: It can take up to 24 hours to fully
charge the battery, but you can use the
Philips Sonicare toothbrush before it is
fully charged.
Using your Philips Sonicare
toothbrush
Brushing instructions
1 Wet the bristles and apply a small
amount of toothpaste.
2 Place the toothbrush bristles against
the teeth at a slight angle
(45 degrees), pressing rmly to make
the bristles reach the gumline or slightly
beneath the gumline (Fig. 4).
Note: Keep the center of the brush in
contact with the teeth at all times.
3 Press the power on/o and mode
button to turn on the Philips Sonicare.
4 Gently keep the bristles placed on the
teeth and in the gumline. Brush your
teeth with small back and forth motion
so the bristles reach between the teeth.
Continue this motion throughout your
brushing cycle.
Note: The bristles should slightly are.
Do not scrub.
5 To clean the inside surfaces of the front
teeth, tilt the brush handle semi-upright
and make several vertical overlapping
brushing strokes on each tooth (Fig. 5).
Note: To make sure you brush evenly
throughout the mouth, divide your
mouth into 4 sections using the
Quadpacer feature (see chapter
‘Features’).
6 Begin brushing in section 1 (outside
upper teeth) and brush for 30 seconds
before you move to section 2 (inside
upper teeth). Continue brushing in
section 3 (outside lower teeth) and
brush for 30 seconds before you move
to section 4 (inside lower teeth) (Fig. 6).
