Samsung LC27JG54QQEXXY Questions and Answers

#1 Unlock On Screen Display on Samsung Monitor

Your monitor may have an OSD (On Screen Display) Lock function. This function locks most of the OSD Menu settings so they cannot be inadvertently changed, while usually still allowing you to adjust the Brightness, Contrast, Channel, and Volume. To lock or unlock the OSD, see below:

1
Find the Menu button on your Monitor. Once you have found it, press and hold your finger on it for 10 seconds. Initially the Menu will appear and after 10 seconds of holding the Menu button, it will disappear. Certain options will now be greyed out and the Menu is locked.

To unlock the Menu , repeat the above steps. You will now see the Menu options can be selected and it will be unlocked.
When your menu is unlocked, you can go to the OnScreen Display settings through the Menu and choose how long you'd like it to display on the screen when not in use.
To reset the OSD to factory settings, please refer to the user manual specific to your product model.

#2 How do I tidy up cables on my PC monitor?

Monitors have a built in guide to house cables to prevent cable clutters. Follow the instructions to tidy up cables from the back of the monitor:

1. Grab the monitor stand in one hand and remove the rear sub over by placing your palm and pulling the cover with your thumb. See illustration below.
2. Place one hand on the back of the stand and use the thumb on your other hand to remove cover-stand neck in the direction of the arrow.
3. First connect the cables to the appropriate ports and then run the cables through the opening on the stand.
4. Ensure enough length of the cable is dragged from the tip of the cover stand, atleast 170 mm. Tight cables make it difficult to attach cover and pull the wires from the ports.
5. Hold the stand and close the rear sub cover by pressing firmly from right to left.
6. Grab the stand with one hand and use the other hand to attach the cover stand neck back in its position. Ensure the cover stand neck with the imprint called OPEN is placed at the lower end as shown on the diagram below.
7. The cables are now secured as illustrated below.
