Colored spots at 75mm

 If the problem is not solved after printing a few pages, the drum unit may have

glue from a label stuck on the drum surface. Clean the drum unit. (See

Cleaning the drum unit on page 133.)

Toner scatter or toner stain

 Check the printer’s environment. Conditions such as high humidity and high

temperatures may cause this print quality problem. (See Positioning the

printer on page 5.)

 Make sure that you use paper that meets our specifications. (See About

paper on page 6.)

 Identify the color causing the problem and put in a new toner cartridge. (See

Replacing a toner cartridge on page 99.)

 If the problem continues, put in a new drum unit. (See Replacing the drum

unit on page 106.)

The color of your printouts is not

what you expected

 Make sure that the toner cartridges are installed properly.

 Make sure that the drum unit is installed properly.

 Make sure that the belt unit is installed properly.

 Make sure that the waste toner box is installed properly.

 Perform the calibration. (See Calibration on page 90.)

 Adjust the color by using the custom setting in the driver and by using the

control panel. Colors the printer can print and colors you see on a monitor are

different. The printer may not be able to reproduce the colors on your monitor.

 Make sure that you use paper that meets the printer's specifications. (See

About paper on page 6.)

 Put in a new drum unit. (See Replacing the drum unit on page 106.)

 Put in a new belt unit. (See Replacing the belt unit on page 112.)
