External Device Connections

You can enjoy picture, sound and a PC monitor by connecting a DVD player, video game system or computer to the inputs located on the rear of the LED TV set.

• For the cable, use a commercially available audio/video cable.

• For more information about external device connections, see the operation manuals of your external devices.

• Make sure that the corresponding cables are connected to each input. Connecting other cables may result in a malfunction.

• VIDEO and S-VIDEO inputs: If your external device has an S-VIDEO output, S-VIDEO connection is recommended. S-video provides a finer, more detailed picture. If inputs are connected, S-VIDEO input takes a priority.

• Component Input (YPbPr): Picture can be displayed only when a 480i or 480p or greater signal is received.

Remote Control

1. POWER Turns the LED TV on and off (standby mode).

2. S.MODE Sound Mode, press repeatedly to select the presetting sound effect modes.

3. P.MODE Picture Mode, press repeatedly to select the preset picture modes.

4. SLEEP Press repeatedly to activate and/or set the sleep timer.

5. ASPECT Press repeatedly to select the aspect ratio of screen as desired.

6. MTS In NTSC receiving mode, press to select. the audio modes to Mono, Stereo or SAP. In ATSC Digital receiving mode, press to display the audio selection menu on the screen. Using the NavigatorA,Tbutton to select the desire audio mode.

AUDIO Switch the audio channel when DVD or multimedia playing.

7. CC Press repeatedly to activate and/or set the CC (Closed Caption Display) modes.

SUBT. Select subtitle of DVD of media video file (needs the support of disk or file)

8. ADD/ERASE In FAV display mode, press to increase or delete the highlighted channel.

TITLE Go to the title page of DVD disk.

9. FAV. Show the list of favorite channels ANGLE Select DVD playing angle (needs

support of DVD disk)

10. SOURCE Press to display the source menu on the screen. Using the Navigator ▲ or ▼ buttons to select the source as desire then press (ENTER) button to confirm your selection.

11. EPG Press to display the Electronic Program Guide in digital TV channels(Operation in ATSC mode only functions on signals emitting from TV station)

12. DISPLAY Press to display the information; settings and the status of current mode/station on the screen

ENTER Press the ENTER button to confirm the selection. Press the "ENTER" button, the check mark will appear to the channel , and the channel is marked as channel list.

15. EXIT Press to exit from the setting menu. D.SETUP In DVD mode, press to enter/exit DVD setting menu.

23. Turn off the sound temporary. Press again to turn the sound back.

28. For direct access a digital TV channel. (For an example, when access a digital TV channel number 5-1, press button "5" + "-" + "1")

D,MENU Display the menu of the DVD.

29. SWAP Return to previous channel. REPEAT Set a repeating mode.

Inserting Remote Control Batteries

On the back of the remote control, push down the catch on the battery compartment cover and lift to remove it.

Insert the two AAA batteries supplied, ensuring that you follow the polarity diagram inside the battery compartment.

Refit the cover.

Battery Disposal

Please ensure batteries are disposed safely. Never dispose batteries in a fire or with household waste. Check with your local authority for disposal regulations.

The batteries (battery pack or batteries installed) shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fires or the like.

CAUTION

• Do not attempt to recharge, short-circuit, disassemble, heat or throw the batteries into the fire.

• Placing with wrong or mixed polarities batteries will result in damage to the batteries and/or may result in a malfunction of the unit.

• Do not mix old and new batteries.

• Dispose of batteries properly in accordance with local law.

• Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc),or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries.

Using Remote Control

Changing Channels

• Press the “CH +/ -” buttons to change higher or lower stored main channels and sub-channels.

• Press numeric button “0-9” and “” button to select the main channels and sub-channels then press the “ENTER” button to confirm.

For example: to select CH90-2

• Press number “9” and number “0” button then press the “e” button and press number “2” button.
Then press the“ENTER” button to confirm.

To review the stored Channel

• Press the “ ENTER ” button to review the stored channels.

To Select the Favorite Channel

• Press the FAV. ” button to enter to favorite channel list, to select the desired channel press the button then press the “ENTER” button.

To Change to Audio Channel

• Press the MTS ” button to choose the desired audio channel if the bilingual language is available by the broadcasting station.

To review the station information

• Press the “DISPLAY” button to review the station informations.

To review the program information

• Press the EPG button to enter to the guide menu, and press the “” button to see next page if the contents of information is more than one page.

To change the screen aspect ratio

• Press the “ASPECT” button to change the aspect ratio of picture size.

To return back to the previous channel viewed

• Press the “SWAP” button to review the previous channel.

To turn on or turn off the close captioning

• Press the “CC” button to turn ON or turn OFF close caption function.

To change the picture effect

• Press the P.MODE button to select the picture effect.

• There are four modes for picture with different effect.

User (The picture brightness/contrast/color/sharpness is preset by user) Standard (Fixed mode for normal condition)

Dynamic (Fixed mode for day time with high brightness environment) Mild (Fixed mode suitable for bedroom without light condition)

To set the sleep time

• Press the “SLEEP” button to select a predetermined time the TV will turn off. The sleep time can be set to count down from 15 to 240 minutes.

To mute the sound

• Press the “MUTE” button to mute the sound, press once again to resume the sound. To select Input mode

• Press the “INPUT” button to select source model.

AUTO POWER OFF

If no signal is continuously detected from the antenna or broadcasting for more than 10 minutes, the TV will power-off automatically.

Operating Your TV

Once you have connected your TV to an antenna or cable system, plugged the TV In, and put batteries In the remote, you are ready to use the TV. The first thing you should do Is program your TV to memorize all of the available channels In you area.

Turning Your TV On

To turn your TV ON, press the button on the remote control or press the button on the front panel. (The LED light Is red when the TV Is In the standby mode and blue when powered up.)

First time installation

When you power ON the unit for the first time, the screen will show the initial setup dialog.

There are 6 option in initial setup menu:

• Menu Language: English, Francais, Espanol

• Time Zone, Daylight Saving Time, Time Format:

Press the “” button to select.

• In Retail Mode , the television provides a more dynamic picture that will increase power consumption beyond Energy Star standards.

• In Home Mode, the television display meets Energy Star standards to reduce power consumption.

• Signal type: Air, Cable

• Auto Channel Search: Execute

• Press the “” button to highlight desired menu language or signal type and press the “◄ / ►” button to select desired menu language and signal type.

• Press the “button to highlight Auto Channel

Search and press “ENTER” button to perform auto channel scan, the Auto Scan process will take about 30 minutes, while the auto scan process is finished then the first memorized channel will appear on the screen.

You can Scan for channels at any time using the following instructions:

Channel Programming

1. Press the “MENU” button on the remote control, then press the “▲/▼” button to highlight CHANNEL, and press the “ENTER” button to access to the sub-menu.

There are 6 items in CHANNEL Sub-menu:

• Air/Cable

• Auto Scan

• Favorite

• Channel List

• Show/Hide

• Channel Number

• Channel Label

2. Press the button to highlight Signal Type, then press the button to select desired Air or Cable.

  • Press the button to highlight Auto Channel Search, and press the “ENTER” button to launch the Auto channels scanning. The scanning process will take about 30 minutes or more (depends on how many TV stations are in your area), when the auto scanning process is finished the first memorized station will appear on the screen.

Channel Label

* Press the button to highlight the Channel Label then press the “ENTER” button to access.

• Press the “” button to move the position of cursor, then press the "” button one or more times to select each desired character for the name of channel.

Picture

Press the “MENU” button then press the ‘V button to highlight the PICTURE and press “ENTER” button to access to the sub-menu.

There are 7 items in the menu:

• Picture Mode

• Brightness

• Contrast

• Color

• Tint

• Sharpness

• Color Temparature

Picture settings

• Press the button to highlight Picture Settings and press the “ENTER” button to enter to the sub-menu.

• In sub-menu press the “” button to high light desired item that you want to adjust, then press the “◄ / ►” button to change the parameter of selected item.

• Picture Mode: Standard, Dynamic, Soft, Power Saving or User.

• Brightness

• Contrast

• Color

• Tint

• Sharpness

PC Settings

When PC Settings is highlighted, press the “ENTER” button to enter to the sub-menu, then press the “” button to highlight desired item which you want to adjust, then press the “◄ / ►” button to change the parameter of selected item. H-Pos V-Pos Clock Phase Auto

• Press the “MENU” button to close the menu.

Sound

Press the “MENU” button then press the V button to highlight the SOUND and press “ENTER” button to access to the sub-menu.

There are 6 items in the menu:

Sound Mode

• Press the “” button to highlight Sound Mode and press the “ENTER” button to enter to the sub-menu.

• In sub-menu press the “" button to high light desired item that you want to adjust, then press the “◄ / ►” button to change the parameter of selected item.

• Sound Mode: Standard, Music, Movie Sports or User.

• Bass

Parental Control

The parental control menu provide the ability to set rating that block programming that may be inappropriate for the viewing audience such as programs and movies that contain violence, adult language or nudity.

• Press the “MENU” button then press the button to highlight the PARENTAL CONTROL and press “ENTER” button to access to the sub-menu.

To make setting, need to input 4 digit password (the default password is 0000)

There are 3 items in the menu:

  • Change Password

Setup

Press the “MENU” button then press the button to highlight the SETUP and press “ENTER” button to access to the sub-menu.

Date & Time

Press the “MENU” button then press the V button to highlight the TIME and press “ENTER” button to access to the sub-menu.

Changing channels

• Press the “ CH+ “ CH- ” button on the unit or on the remote control to change to higher or lower channels or press the numeric button to key in the channel number directly. Use the numeric button to select the main channel and sub-channel(Digital channels): In digital TV mode, a main channel can have one or more sub-channels, to select the main and sub-channel by following below procedures:

• Press the numeric buttons(0-9) on the remote control, and input the desired main channel, and press the button to input to the sub-channel number.

For example:

If you want to watch channel 5.2, press “5” then then the “2” buttons.

Add or delete channels to the favorite list:

• Press the “ ENTER ” button to enter to the Channel List menu.

• Press the “” button to select a channel which you want to add or delete to the favorite channel list.

• Press the “ENTER” button, the check mark will appear to the channel, and the channel is marked as channel list.

• Repeat the same procedure for other channels.

• Press the “MENU” button to exit.

Use the favorite channel list

1. Press the "FAV.” button on the remote control and the favorite list will appear on the screen.

2. Press the button to highlight the desired channel that you want to watch, then press the “ENTER” button to call out this channel.

Use The Electronic Program Guide(EPG)

Your TV has an Electronic Program Guide (EPG) that supplies information, such as program lists and start and end times for programs. In addition, detailed information about the program is often available in the EPG. (The availability and the amount of program details will vary depending on the broadcaster.)

To use the EPG

• In digital TV mode, select a channel you want to watch.

• Press the EPG button on the remote control and the EPG menu will appear with the currently active channel.

• By repeatedly pressing the button, the information for additional future programs will be displayed.

• Press the “◄ / ►” button to select the previous or next program.

• Press the EPG button one or more times to close the menu.

View channel information

• Press the “DISPLAY” button once to display the information of the channel being viewed.

• Press the “DISPLAY” button again to display the contents of the channel being viewed.

• Press the “DISPLAY” button again to close the menu.

DVD MENU

BASIC OPERATION

1. Turn the DVD function ON and OFF Turn on the LED TV and then press Source repeatedly to select DVD mode.

2. Insert Disc to DVD Insert the disc in the disc slot (Data side of the disc has to face towards the front of the unit). The player will load the disc automatically and there will be an on screen indication "Close” then "Reading". After loading the disc content, it will switch to play mode automatically. If the disc is already placed inside, the disc will be read automatically.

NOTE: For some discs, after loading the content of the disc, you need to press or select from the disc menu to start. Please make sure when inserting the disc that the Data side of the disc should be facing you. Inserting the disc incorrectly may damage the DVD mechanism.

3. Play the DVD According to the disc content, the disc menu will be displayed for your selection. When playing the disc, you may use button to toggle between Play and Pause mode. This product also supports Menu, Title, Sequential and Program playback.

4. Menu playback (for DVD/super VCD and VCD2.0 discs) Press MENU button for DVD discs, the screen will display the DVD Disc Menu (Root Menu) for Super VCD & VCD2.0 discs, the screen will display the Super VCD, VCD2.0 Disc Menu (PBC: [OFF]) (Press the D.MENU button to display the PBC status). Playback the Super VCD & VCD2.0 discs, the default PBC status is ON. For DVD discs, use the navigation buttons to select and play the highlighted contents; for Super VCD & VCD2.0 discs, use the numeric buttons to play your favorite content directly. NOTE: PBC should be OFF.

Press OK or button to start from the highlighted content. Return to the Root Menu when playing the disc. For DVD discs, press D.MENU to display the Disc Menu. For Super VCD & VCD2.0 discs, when PBC is ON, press D.MENU to display the Disc Menu.

Stop Press button once to stop. Press button to resume from where you stopped. Press button twice to stop. Press button to start from beginning. In order to protect the disc, press button then press EJECT button to take the disc out. When the disc is ejected, handle the disc by the edge only and take it from the eject direction to prevent scratches. When not using the DVD function (in stand-by mode or using other modes for a long time), please take out the disc to protect the DVD loader and the disc.

5. Title playback (for DVD disc only) Press Title button, there will be an on screen indication "Title”. Press the direction or numeric buttons to select your favorite title. Then it will play from the first chapter of the selected title

DVD FUNCTIONS OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

1. Play (for DVD/Super VCD/CD/CD-G/HD-CD and Mp3/JPEG discs) For DVD disc, press button from root or title menu; while playing the DVD, you may play your favorite title directly with title selection by pressing the Title button. For Super VCD & VCD discs, while playing the disc, you may play your favorite tracks by numeric buttons. For CD, CD-G & FID-CD discs, while playing the disc, you may play your favorite tracks by numeric buttons. For MP3 / JPEG disc, you may play your favorite tracks by numeric buttons from the content menu. If input track number is not valid, it will not function. NOTE: From track 1-10, use numeric buttons directly; For tracks over 10, e.g. 15, press button first and then 5.

2. Previous/Next (for DVD / Super VCD/VCD/CD/CD-G/HD-CD and Mp3/JEPG discs) While playing the disc; Press button to play to the last Title / Chapter / Track. Press button to play to next Title / Chapter / Track. For super VCD & VCD discs, in PBC OFF status; If the current track is the first one, pressing the button will stop the playback. If the current track is the last one, pressing the button will stop the playback. For DVD discs, the above functions may vary due to different DVD disc structures.

3. Forward/Backward (for DVD/Super VCD/VCD/CD/CD-G/HD-CD and Mp3) While playing the disc, you may use forward or backward function. There are 4 speeds for forward. Press button to toggle between different speeds in sequence. (FORWARDx2 / FORWARDx8 /FORWARDx20 / Play). While in backward, you may press to resume normal speed. For CD, HD-CD, Mp3, backward also has audio output (only for BACKWARDx2). For DVD discs, backward to the first title / chapter will start from the beginning. For Super VCD & VCD discs, in PBC ON status, backward to the first track will start from the beginning. NOTE: During Forward or Backward, the sound will be off.

4. Pause (for DVD/Super VCD/VCD/CD/CD-G/HD-CD and Mp3/JPEG discs) For CD, CD-G, HD-CD & Mp3/JPEG discs, press button to pause; press button to resume. For DVD, Super VCD, VCD discs, press button to pause; press button to resume.

5. Repeat (for DVD/Super VCD/VCD/CD/CD-G/HD-CD and Mp3/JPEG discs) Press Repeat button once to display the current repeat mode. For Super VCD, VCD, CD, CD-G, HD-CD, discs, while playing in sequence, you may use the repeat playback. There are 2 repeat modes; press Repeat to toggle between different modes in sequence. (Repeat (OFF)/Repeat (1)/Repeat (ALL). For DVD discs, you may set up the repeat playback mode. There are 3 repeat modes; press REPEAT to toggle between different modes in sequence. (REP: (OFF)/REP:(CHAPTER)/REP:(TITLE)/REP:(ALL). For Mp3 / JPEG discs, while playing the disc, you may use the repeat playback. There are 3 repeat modes; press REPEAT to toggle between different modes in sequence. (REPEAT(OFF)/ REPEAT(l)/ REPEAT(DIR)/ REPEAT(ALL).

6. INFO (for DVD/Super VCD/VCD/CD/CD-G/HD-CD and Mp3/JPEG discs) Press INFO button to activate the on screen roll-down menu for the current Title, Chapter, time and other information. For DVD discs, (2 pages). Press INFO button once to display first page as shown below:

Press the INFO button again to turn off the on screen display.

For Super VCD discs, (2 pages). Press INFO button once to display first page: Disc type, Track -/- (Current/Full), Mute status, PBC status, Repeat mode status, Current track time. Press INFO button again to display second page: Audio -/--(Current/Full) or OFF, Audio type, Language, Subtitle-/-(Current/Fu11) or OFF. Press INFO button again to turn off the on screen display.

For CD, CD-G, HD-G, MP3 / JPEG discs, press INFO button once to display first page: Disc 1ype, Track -/- (Current / Full), Mute status, Repeat mode statue, Current track time. Press INFO button again to turn off the on Screen display.

7. Goto (for DVD/Super VCD/VCD/CD/CD-G/HD-CD and Mp3 discs) This function allows you to play your favorite Title / Chapter / Track. Press Goto button to activate the on screen scroll-down menu for editing. According to the highlighted area, input your favorite Title / Chapter / Track number by numeric buttons or input the playback time. After editing, press OK to start. If the input is invalid, it will not function. NOTE: While editing, the Goto button does not function. If it is in PBC ON status, this function will switch it to OFF.

8. Audio (For VCD/CD/CD-G/HD-CD and Mp3 JPEG discs) Press Audio button once to display current audio mode. Press again to toggle between different audio modes in sequence. For CD/VCD/Mp3/HDCD discs: (stereo/monoL/monoR)

Note: Switching to Auto L / R audio channel may be varied due to different disc contents. Bilingual VCD discs can use Audio button to switch between different languages.

9. Mute (for DVD/Super VCD/VCD/CD/CDG/HD-CD and Mp3/JPEG discs) Press MUTE button to mute the audio output. There will be an on screen symbol to indicate “MUTE". Press again to cancel, or Press VOL+ to cancel and adjust the volume. In case there is no audio output, try to press MUTE button to cancel mute.

10. Repeat A-B (for DVD/Super VCD/VCD/CD/CD-G/HD-CD and Mp3 discs) When playing DVD, VCD, CD disc, press the A-B button to repeat a certain content. Press the A-B button at the starting point (A) and the ending point (B) to select the repeat part. Press the A-B button a third time to cancel the A-B repeat function and return to normal play.

11. Volume (for DVD/Super VCD/VCD/CD/CD-G/HD-CD and Mp3/JPEG discs) Press VOL+ / VOL- buttons to adjust the output volume.

MP3/JPEG Playback

After loading the Mp3 /JPEG disc, it will start to scan for the stored Mp3/JPEG folders. Then it will firstly display the Mp3 contents automatically and start to play the first file (highlighted file). Screen as follows

Use the navigation buttons to check your favorite folder and playback the first file or move to your favorite file.

Note: Press buttons to move the highlight to folders, documents or mode selection. Press numeric buttons to select the contents directly. For numbers over 10, e.g. 15, press button 1 and then 5. When playing Mp3 files, there is no picture display, only audio output.

When playing or pausing with picture playback, you may use navigation buttons to flip / rotate the picture.

▲ Button to flip horizontally.

▼ Button to flip vertically.

◄ Button to rotate left 90°.

► Button to rotate right 90°.

When playing or pausing with picture playback, you may use D.MENU button to enter preview mode to display 12 pictures. Press button to select next / previous page or press numeric buttons to view the corresponding pictures.

The maximum JPEG image size that can be displayed is 1280 x 1024.

GENERAL SETUP PAGE:

1. If TV Display is selected, press the Navigator ► button to enter. Press the Navigator or button to set the aspect ratio to 4:3/PS; 4:3/LB or 16:9 to match the aspect ratio of the playing movie or external connected TV.

2. If OSD Lang (On Screen Display) is selected, press the Navigator ► button to enter. Press the Navigator or button to set the OSD language as desired.

3. If Screen Saver is selected, press the Navigator ► button to enter. Press the Navigator or button to turn it On or Off.

4. If Last Memory is selected, press the Navigator ► button to enter. Press the Navigator or button to turn it On or Off.

AUDIO SETUP PAGE:

1. If Downmix is seleded, press the Navigator ► button to enter. Press the Navigator ▲ or ▼ button to set the Downmix. Select Downmix level as desired.

2. If Dual Mono is seleded, press the Navigator ► button to enter. Press the Navigator ▲ or ▼button to set the Dual Mono level as desired. You can seled four different audio outputs, Stereo, Mono L, Mono R, Mix Mono.

3. If Dynamic is seleded, press the Navigator ► button to enter. Press the Navigator ▲ or ▼ button to set the dynamic level as desired.

NOTE: If confirmed, press the OK button to save

PREFERENCE PAGE:

1. If TV Type is selected, press the Navigator ► button to enter. Press the Navigator ▲ or ▼ button to set the TV Type level as desired.

PAL

This is the format used in Europe and the default setting.

AUTO

This format can be used if your TV/DVD is capable of both PAL and NTSC formats.

NTSC

This format is used by some other countries, e.g. USA

2. If Audio, Subtitle or Disc Menu is selected, press the Navigator ► button to enter. Press the Navigator ▲ or ▼ button to select and set the language as desired.

3. If Parental is selected, press the Navigator E button to enter. Press the Navigator ▲ or ▼ button to select the desired level, then press the “OK” button. The Password window will appear on the screen. Enter the four (4) digit password by pressing the numeric buttons (default password is 6090) then press the “OK" button to confirm the selection and exit.

4. If Password is selected, press the Navigator ► button to enter, then press the “OK” button. The sub-setting menu will appear on the screen. Follow the on screen instructions to set up the new password then press “OK" button to save the settings and exit.

NOTE: If the new password was forgotten, use the super password 6090 to reset a new password.

5. If default is selected, press the Navigator ► button to enter. Press the “OK" button to reset all settings to factory default settings or press the D.SETUP button to exit without change.

Trouble Shooting

Your television is designed to give you trouble-free performance for many years. If you have a problem with your TV, try the solutions listed below.

There is no picture or sound, or the TV doesn’t turn on.

• Make sure the TV is plugged in.

• Make sure MUTE is not set on.

• Make sure the POWER is on.

• Make sure a headphone is not inserted.
