Install the Case in the Window
Carefully position the case in the window so
that the bottom mounting rail is nested against
the window stool.
Center the case and lower the window behind
the top mounting rail.
Secure the bottom mounting rail of the case to
the window stool using 4 Type B screws.
Loosely thread a
leveling bolt into
a support
bracket.
Position the support brackets near the
outermost point on the sill. From inside the
case, attach the support bracket to the case
bottom flange using 2 Type C screws.
Repeat steps D and E to install the second
support on the other side of the case.
Adjust the leveling bolts against the sill so that
the supports had a slight tilt to the outside. Use
a level; about 1/2 bubble will be the correct
slant to the outside. After leveling is done,
tighten the leveling bolt nut.
NOTE: Use a steel washer between the leveling
bolts and the sill if the sill is weak.
Extend the left and right accordion panels to
the vertical window sashes. Drill 1/8 pilot
holes and attach the top corners with 2 Type B
screws. Use an accordion panel clamp on each
lower corner to trap the panels. Drill 1/8 pilot
holes and attach the panel clamps with 2 Type
B screws.
NOTE: Seal any openings around the case or
accordion panels with sealer or foam gaskets.
