Samsung RB34T632EBN/EU Questions and Answers

#1 My Samsung fridge-freezer ice maker doesn't produce enough ice. What should I do?

Samsung refrigerators produce around 120 ice cubes a day, which is in line with most manufacturer specifications. To check how many ice cubes your refrigerator is producing, empty the ice tray and let the ice maker run for 24 hours. If the ice maker is making no ice, there are practical solutions you can try.

#2 How often should I change the water filter in my Samsung refrigerator?

You should change the filter when the Filter Indicator light turns red (see the picture of the control panel below). Usually this happens about every 6 monthsThe filter Indicator will be Blue when you initially insert the water filter.
The filter Indicator will be purple when you have used your water filter for 5 months.
The filter Indicator will be Red when you have used your water filter for 6 months.
If you change the filter, press the Ice Type / Filter Change button for 3 seconds to reset the filter schedule.
When you do not want to use the water filter, press the Ice Type button for more than 5 seconds, the Filter Indicator and the Filter Change display will be switched off.

#3 Do you open the freezer door regularly?

If your home is humid, simply opening the freezer door can cause ice to build up. As you open the freezer door, warm and humid air rushes in and begins to freeze. Try and avoid leaving the freezer door open or opening it unecessarily.

#4 Is there suitable ventilation?

If the ventilation is blocked or inhibited, then cool air will not circulate properly in the freezer. To allow for the best circulation, items in the freezer should be spread out as much as possible.
Check the air vents on the freezer. Clear or move away anything that is blocking the vents.

#5 How do I defrost my refrigerator?

If there's a lot of ice in your freezer, you should defrost it and remove any build-up of frost and ice.
Remove all items from your freezer and place them in a refrigerator or cool environment
Unplug your freezer
Lay out some towels underneath the freezer to catch any water and have some more handy to mop any water inside the freezer
Carefully, fill a clean spray bottle with boiling water
Spray the frost with the hot water to melt it
Mop up the water with a towel and make sure the freezer is completely dry
Plug your freezer back in and restock it
