NOTE: This coffeemaker allows you to set the number of cups of coffee you'd like to brew, rather than using all available water in the reservoir. A full reservoir can brew up to three 4-Cup batches before needing to refill. However, if the number of cups is not selected, the machine will act like a traditional coffeemaker by brewing all the water in the reservoir.

1. After filling the coffeemaker with water and grounds, press the Brew Now button.

2. The display will change for a few seconds to allow you to select the number of cups you desire to brew. You can select to brew 4, 6, 8,10,12 cups of coffee or ALL. The default ALL cup function allows you to brew all the water in the reservoir without selecting a specific cup size.

3. A green light will appear on the display once the machine is in the brewing process and will remain ON until the machine is turned off or after the 4 hours have passed.

4. For a stronger, bolder coffee, simply press the Strong Button. A small coffee bean () will appear on the screen indicating STRONG BREW is activated. To turn off STRONG BREW, simply press the Strong Button again. The bean () will disappear.

NOTE: If you don't press the Strong Button to turn off STRONG BREW, the STRONG feature will remain active.

5. Once brewing is complete the coffeemaker will beep. The warming plate will keep the coffee hot for up to 4 hours and then will automatically shut off.

6. To turn off the warming plate prior to auto-shut off, press the BREW NOW button.

NOTE: Push Brew Now button prior to 4 hours to turn the coffeemaker off early.

BREW LATER

IMPORTANT: You must set the clock before using this feature.

1. Press the BREW LATER button. The display will flash the previously set brew later time. If no brew later time has previously set the display will flash 12:00 AM. The display will flash for a few seconds to allow you to set the brew time, using the HOUR and MIN buttons. After 3 seconds of inactivity the brew later time will be set for the selected time.

2. A yellow/amber indicator light will show up on the display to indicate the BREW LATER function has been activated.

3. If you change your mind and wish to turn off the BREW LATER feature, simply press the BREW LATER button again and it will turn off.

Once the BREW LATER feature has been set up, the coffeemaker will automatically remember the last settings until you change it again or if the coffeemaker is unplugged.

NOTE: As a reminder, if you want to continue to use the Brew Later feature, you have to press Brew Later each time. The coffeemaker will not automaticallyn start again the next day.

HOW TO BREW THE PERFECT COP

Paper Filters vs. Reusable Filters

PAPER FILTERS: To achieve a smoother, less bitter cup of coffee, use a paper filter. It will be most effective in trapping bitter sediments.

REUSABLE FILTERS: For a more robust and full taste, use a reusable filter. It will allow the coffee's full flavor to fill your cup. Reusable filters have tiny holes that allow rich coffee oils to brew through.

COFFEEMAKER EXTRAS

(not included with this model)

Water

While it may not seem like an important ingredient, coffee is 98 percent water. The type of water that you brew with greatly affects the final taste. Always use clean, fresh water that is filtered and free of impurities - avoid hard water or well water.

Cleanliness

A clean coffeemaker is essential to brewing great tasting coffee each and every time.

ROUTINE CLEANING

Daily Cleaning

CAUTION: Make sure your coffeemaker is unplugged and has cooled completely before cleaning.

  • Remove the brew basket, reusable filter (if applicable), carafe, carafe lid, and wash them in a solution of hot water and mild liquid soap, and dry thoroughly. You can also place in the dishwasher; top-rack only.

Decalcifying your MR. COFFEE® LED Touch Display Coffeemaker

Minerals (calcium/limestone) found in water will leave deposits in your coffeemaker and affect its performance. It's recommended that you regularly remove these deposits using a vinegar solution.

1. Prepare a solution of equal parts water and vinegar and pour the solution into the Water Reservoir.

2. Place an empty 12 cup basket-style paper filter or MR. COFFEE® reusable filter into the brew basket and close the coffeemaker's lid.

3. Place the empty carafe back in the unit, centered on the warming plate.

4. Select 12 or ALL using the CUPS button.

5. Brew prepared cleaning solution through the coffeemaker.

6. Turn the coffeemaker off and let stand for 30 minutes.

7. Discard the cleaning solution and rinse the carafe thoroughly with clean water.

8. Fill the water reservoir with 12 cups of clean, fresh water.

9. Place the empty carafe back on the coffeemaker, centered on the warming plate.

10. Remove and discard the paper filter used during the cleaning cycle. If a MR. COFFEE® reusable filter was used during cleaning, remove it and rinse it thoroughly before replacing it in the brew basket.

11. Turn the switch to ON and allow the full brew cycle to complete, rinsing the coffeemaker with hot water.

12. Discard the water and rinse the carafe thoroughly with clean water.

13. Repeat steps 8 through 12 one more time, to ensure it is fully rinsed.

Your coffeemaker is now clean and ready to brew the next pot of delicious, hot coffee!

NOTE: It is recommended that you decalcify your coffeemaker every 30 days.
