Drive Chain

Safety Precautions
Clean the chain with a dry cloth. Use a
chain cleaner designed specifically for
O-ring chains, or neutral detergent.
Use a soft brush if the chain is dirty.
Do not brush the rubber O-rings with a
wire brush.
Brushing with a wire brush will damage
the O-rings. Use of a solvent may also
damage the O-rings.

Your motorcycle has an endless (riveted
master link) type chain. It should only be
removed or replaced by your dealer.
The O-rings can be damaged by steam
cleaning, high pressure washers, volatile
solvent such as gasoline and benzene,
abrasive cleaner and chain cleaner not
designed specifically for O-ring chains.
Replacement Chain:
Replace the drive chain if it has damaged
rollers, loose fitting links, damaged
O-rings, or otherwise appears
unserviceable.
Inspect the drive chain for possible
wear or damage.
