#1 Is this all I need or do I need the cloud extender as well?

Nope you can control the EAPs through the cloud controller if you want but the app and software client are also available.

#2 Can this be used to wirelessly repeat or extend a wifi signal without having to connect an ethernet cable to to a router?

No, it has to be connected to a router via Ethernet cable to work. It cannot be powered without an Ethernet connection.

#3 Can the wireless signal be turned off? If yes, via on/off switch or via software? Intention is to have no wireless signal at certain times.

Yes, the signal can be shut down using the software or set up to go dormant during certain times of the day, also using the software.

#4 In order to use this, do i need a poe switch? Can this power up with a normal switch?

It comes with an intermediary POE power injector if you are connecting to a non POE switch. The power injector does need to plugged into power but can be on either end of you Ethernet cable.

#5 Can this be used as a stand-alone wifi router. im just looking for a wireless router with good range that can handle bad weather?

Nothing in the literature or instructions indicates that it can be used as a standalone router. ...only functions as an AP.

#6 Can I place the AC1200 in my detached garaged to extend the wifi signal via ethernet from my home router?

Yes that’s what I did. I connected an Ethernet cable from my main router to this access point outside to extend my WiFi outside by my pool.

#7 Will i be able to use the hotspot on my verizon phone to connect to this device (by wifi) and from it to computer with only ethernet/cable connection?

No, this device has to have a direct Ethernet connection to a router or switch connected to the internet.
