Is Your ATV Ready to Ride?

If you are carrying cargo, also check the following:
Check these items after you get on the ATV:
Lights Make sure the headlights, brakelight and
taillight are working properly.
Loading Limits Make sure you do not exceed the load limits
(page 70).
Cargo Check that all cargo is secure.
Throttle Check the freeplay and adjust if needed. Press
the throttle to make sure it moves smoothly
without sticking, and snaps shut automatically
when it is released, in all steering positions
(page 160).
Brakes Squeeze the front and rear brake levers and
step on the rear brake pedal to check that the
controls operate normally. Depress the rear
brake pedal several times, then check for proper
rear brake lever/parking brake lever freeplay
(page 177). Make sure there is no brake fluid
leakage.
Reverse Assist
Lever
Check the freeplay and adjust if needed
(page 163). Make sure the lever operates
smoothly without sticking.
