Important
Read this user manual carefully before you use the appliance and save it for
future reference.
Danger
- Never immerse the motor unit in water or any other liquid, nor rinse it
under the tap. Only use a moist cloth to clean the motor unit.
Warning
- Check if the voltage indicated on the appliance corresponds to the local
mains voltage before you connect the appliance.
- Do not use the appliance if the mains cord, the plug or other parts are
damaged.
- If the mains cord is damaged, you must have it replaced by Philips, a
service centre authorised by Philips or similarly qualied persons in
order to avoid a hazard.
- Never let the appliance run unattended.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children)
with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of
experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for
their safety.
- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the
appliance.
- Do not touch the blades, especially when the appliance is plugged in.
The blades are very sharp.
- If the blades get stuck, unplug the appliance before you remove the
ingredients that block the blades.
Caution
- Switch off the appliance and disconnect it from the mains before you
change accessories or approach parts that move during use.
- This appliance is intended for household use only.
- Do not exceed the quantities and processing times indicated in the
tables.
- Do not operate the hand blender for more than 60 seconds at a time
when you blend or chop heavy loads. After these 60 seconds, let the
appliance cool down sufciently before you continue. None of the
recipes in this user manual constitute heavy loads.
- Noise level: Lc = 82 dB(A)
This Philips appliance complies with all standards regarding electromagnetic
elds (EMF). If handled properly and according to the instructions in this
user manual, the appliance is safe to use based on scientic evidence

Before first use
Thoroughly clean the parts that will come into contact with food before
you use the appliance for the rst time (see chapter ‘Cleaning’).
Note: Make sure you leave enough room above the holder to be able to remove
the hand blender. Also leave enough room below the holder to allow the hand
blender to hang freely.

Preparing for use
1 Lethotingredientscooldownbeforeyouchopthemorpourthem
intothebeaker(max.temperature80°C).
2 Cutlargeingredientsintopiecesofapprox.2cmbeforeyouprocess
them.
3 Assembletheapplianceproperlybeforeyouputthepluginthewall
socket.
Hand blender
The hand blender is intended for:
- blending uids, e.g. dairy products, sauces, fruit juices, soups, mixed
drinks and shakes.
- mixing soft ingredients, e.g. pancake batter or mayonnaise.
- pureeing cooked ingredients, e.g. for making baby food.

2 Immersethebladeguardcompletelyintheingredients(Fig.5).
3 Pressthenormalorturbospeedbuttontoswitchontheappliance.
4 Move the appliance slowly up and down and in circles to blend the
ingredients(Fig.6).
The chopper is intended for chopping ingredients such as nuts, meat, onions,
hard cheese, boiled eggs, garlic, herbs, dry bread etc.
Thebladesareverysharp,sobeverycarefulwhenyouhandletheblade
unit.Beespeciallycarefulwhenyouremovethebladeunitfromthe
chopperbowl,whenyouemptythechopperbowlandduringcleaning.
1 Putthechopperbladeunitinthechopperbowl(Fig.7).
2 Puttheingredientsinthechopperbowl.
3 Putthecouplingunitontothechopperbowl(Fig.8).
4 Fastenthemotorunitontothechopperbowl(‘click’)(Fig.9).
5 Pressthenormalorturbospeedbuttontoswitchontheappliance.
- If the ingredients stick to the wall of the chopper bowl, use a spatula or
add liquid to loosen them.
- Always let the appliance cool down after you have used it to chop meat.
The whisk is intended for whipping cream, whisking egg whites, desserts etc.

Tip: Use a large bowl for the best result.
4 Immersethewhiskcompletelyintheingredients.Toavoidsplashing,
startprocessingatnormalspeed(Fig.12).
5 Continuewithturbospeedafterapprox.1minute.
Cleaning
Donotimmersethemotorunitandthewhiskcouplingunitinwater.
1 Unplugtheapplianceanddetachtheaccessories.
2 Wipethemotorunitandthewhiskcouplingunitwithamoistcloth.
3 Cleanthebeaker,thechopperbowl,thechopperbladeunit,the
choppercouplingunitandthewhiskwithoutcouplingunitinthe
dishwasherorinhotwaterwithsomewashing-upliquid.
We advise you to remove the rubber ring from the chopper bowl before
you clean it.
Note: You can also clean the blade unit of the blender bar and the whisk while
they are still attached to the motor unit. To do so, immerse the blender bar or
the whisk in hot water with some washing-up liquid and let the appliance run
for a while.
