Yes the basin can be removed in about 2 minutes. Open the lid with the basin attached At the bottom of the basin there are 2 gray clips that need to be slid inwards to the center of the washer. You will need to push in on the clip and slide it inwards. Once they are all the way inwards they might fall out Keep them if you wish to install the basin again. The right side will come out easy but the left side you might have to wiggle to get out. I was almost at the point of cutting the basin off when I just happened to see the clips Good luck to anyone this may help
