Automatic cleaning and descaling

– When not using mains water
connection: The water container is
inserted and is filled with water at
least up to the marker.
– Carry out the instructions which
appear in the display before
switching off, e.g. Empty and refit the
drip tray and the waste container.
– The appliance door is closed at time
of starting.
– The coffee machine is switched off.
Automatic cleaning
If you have made a drink with milk in
the last 24hours, the milk pipework will
be cleaned. The brew unit is cleaned
after approx. 25 coffee drinks.
Automatic cleaning takes approx.
25minutes if the milk system and
brewing system are both cleaned.
Switching automatic cleaning
on and off
Automatic cleaning is usually switched
on when setting up the machine.
However, you can switch the Automatic
cleaning on or off at any time.
The drinks menu is displayed.
Touch the sensor.
Select Settings and then Automatic
cleaning.
Select the setting you want and
confirm with OK.
If automatic cleaning is switched on
and coffee drinks and/or milk have
already been prepared, the coffee
machine will need to be manually
cleaned once. This will remove milk
residues and coffee oils and the
counter will be reset.
The Miele cleaning cartridge
For automatic cleaning, only use the
Miele cleaning cartridge. These have
been developed specifically for use
in this coffee machine.
Please note that the Miele cleaning
cartridge has a storage life of approx.
one year after it has been placed in
the machine for the first time.
Critical for the one-year storage life
is the date on which the cleaning
cartridge was fitted.
Do not fill the cleaning cartridge with
other fluids or substances.
The Miele cleaning cartridge contains a
cleaning agent that effectively removes
milk residues and coffee oils.
The cleaning cartridge is sufficient for
up to 3 months' cleaning, depending on
usage. If you carry out manual cleaning
more frequently, or prepare a lot of
drinks, the time will reduce accordingly.
You can display the fill level of the
cartridge as a segment bar under
Settings | Info| Fill levels. As the fill level
of the cartridge drops, various
messages are displayed at regular
intervals to remind you to purchase a
new cartridge.
The first message appears when the
cartridge is approx. 25% full.
