RECHARGEABLE OPERATION - CLIPPER USE AND MAINTENANCE
1. Remove the clipper, recharging transformer and accessories from the packing
material.
2. Before the appliance is used for the first time, it should be charged for 3 to 5 hours.
After the first charge, it will also take 3 to 5 hours to fully recharge the battery.
During charging, the charging indicator is illuminated (NOTE: Not all kits have a
charge indicator). Fully charged battery offers up to 60 minutes or better of run
time. (varies by product)
3. After initial charge, clipper can be “Quick Charged” for 15 minutes. This should
allow enough power for one haircut.
4. Plug the recharging transformer into any convenient electrical outlet at the correct
voltage. If clipper is on, turn to off position when charging.
5. When clipper is not in use, it may be connected to the transformer and plugged
into an outlet to assure maximum power is available when it is next used. This
transformer is designed to charge the battery without overcharging.
6. The charge cord should be removed from the clipper when not charging. Leaving
the power cord connected to the clipper without being plugged in may cause the
battery to drain.
7. The charging indicator light will illuminate when your clipper is in the “OFF”
position and connected to its charger. The clipper cannot be overcharged, so you
may charge it as often as desired.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT, CLIPPER DISPOSAL AND RECYCLING:
•For battery replacement send the entire, intact clipper unit to:
Wahl Annex 3001 North Locust, P.O. Box 578, Sterling, IL 61081
• Do not attempt to remove the battery. Lithium-Ion batteries can explode, catch
fire, and or cause burns if disassembled, damaged, or exposed to water or high
temperatures.
• If you choose not to replace the battery, the entire, intact clipper unit must be
disposed. Do not attempt to remove the battery for disposal. Lithium-Ion batteries
may be subject to local disposal regulations. Many locations prohibit disposal in
standard waste receptacles. Check your local laws and regulations.
• For recycling contact a government recycling agency, waste disposal service,
retailer, or visit online recycling sources, such as www.batteryrecycling.com or www.
rbrc.org.

The RBRC Battery Recycling Seal on the nickel metal hydride (NiMH) battery
contained in this product indicates Wahl is voluntarily participating in an
industry program to collect and recycle these batteries at the end of their useful
life, when taken out of service in the United States or Canada. The RBRC
program provides a convenient alternative to placing used NiMH batteries into
the trash or the municipal waste stream, which is illegal in some areas. Please
call 1-800-8-BATTERY for information on NiMH battery recycling in your area.

RECHARGEABLE CORD/CORDLESS OPERATION
1. Before use, the clipper must be fully charged for 12 to 15 hours.
2. Once fully charged, the unit may be used without cord. A fully charged
clipper can deliver up to 60 minutes of continuous use.
3. After use, move the on/off switch to the “O” (OFF/CHARGE) position.
Reconnect the clipper to the cord and recharge batteries by connecting the
cord into any convenient electrical outlet.
NOTE: If the batteries have completely run out, the clipper can be used as a corded
clipper (see the following “corded operation”).
CORDED OPERATION
1. Be sure the on/off switch is in the “O” (OFF) position.
2. Connect the clipper to the cord, and plug it into an electrical outlet.
3. Move the on/off switch to th “1” (ON) position.
4. After use, disconnect cord from outlet.
CLIPPER/RECYCLING OF BATTERIES
Depending on use, your batteries should last five years. At the end of its life,
when it can no longer take a full charge, it cannot be replaced. The clipper must
be discarded, but first the battery must be removed & recycled properly. To do
so, follow these steps.
1. Make sure the on/off switch is in the “0” (OFF) position and that the cord is
NOT plugged into the clipper or any electrical outlet.
2. Remove blade assembly from clipper and remove screws and cover plate.
3. Remove cover plate by releasing visible cover “hooks” and pulling cover
away.
4. Locate circuit board and battery and cut negative end of battery away from
circuit board then positive end.
5. Apply tape to both ends of the battery before recycling or properly
disposing of it.

BLADE MAINTENANCE
CLEANING:
To remove hair from between the blades, use the cleaning brush
provided. DO NOT USE WATER TO CLEAN THE BLADES.
For best results, after brush cleaning the blades, add Wahl clipper
oil to the blades.
OIL:
The blades on your new clipper should
be oiled every few haircuts. For best
results, place three drops on front of
the blade and one drop on each side
of the blade as shown. Use only Wahl
Clipper oil (a small bottle is included
in this kit, additional oil can be
purchased separately, see www.grooming. Wahl.com for details).
DO NOT USE HAIR OIL, GREASE, OR ANY OIL MIXED
WITH KEROSENE OR ANY SOLVENT.
CORD CARE
The cord should not be used to pull the clipper. Since freedom
of movement needs to be maintained, care should be used to
keep the cord untwisted and unobstructed. When stored, the cord
should be coiled and the unit placed in original box or storage
pouch (if provided), away from children.
WAHL’S GUIDE TO FOOLPROOF ANIMAL
CLIPPING
Assemble your supplies:
Clipper, oil, blades, slicker brush, attachment combs and comb,
scissors, tear-free shampoo, dryer, rubber bath mat, nail cutters.
BEFORE YOU CUT
Brush out coat thoroughly
a) Remove all snarls, knots, tangles and mats.
b) Part the hair and brush on 1” sections-brush from the skin out.
BATH TIME
a) Soak the dog thoroughly.
b) Apply shampoo and work into a good lather.
c) Pay particular attention to the rectum and pads (bottom of the
paws).
d) Be careful also not to get soap in the dog’s eyes (for safety use a
“tear-free” shampoo).
e) Rinse very thoroughly.
f) Squeeze legs, ears and tail.
g) Towel dry
h) Fluff dry or brush and dry.
• Start with the legs using a wire brush and moving up to the body.
• Direct dryer to the area you are brushing. Do one spot at a time.
• Use light, fluffing strokes.
• There should be no snags or tangles when you are done.

CUTTING HAIR
The first time you cut hair, cut only a small amount until you become
accustomed to how long each guide leaves the hair. Depending on
your model, the following guide combs may be included in your kit.
Always start by placing the largest guide comb on the clipper, then
use shorter combs if desired length is shorter.
Guide Comb #1—leaves hair approx. 1/8”
Guide Comb #2—leaves hair approx. 1/4”
Guide Comb #3—leaves hair approx. 3/8”
Guide Comb #4—leaves hair approx. 1/2”
To attach combs, hold comb with teeth up and snap it firmly to the
bottom of the clipper blade.
For uniform cutting, allow the clipper to cut its way through the hair.
Do not force it through at a faster rate.
TIPS FOR ALL BREEDS OF DOGS

1) Before clipping your puppy for the first time, run the clipper near
the puppy’s ear for a short time so he gets used to the noise.
2) If clipping for the first time, the clipping process will be slow. Try
to move with the dog when clipping. After a few grooming sessions,
you will develop your own comfortable style and grooming will go
faster.
3) Take your time when grooming, and use a lot of affection. Dogs
know when you’re in a hurry and will react by getting nervous, making
grooming more difficult.
4) It is very important to trim out excess hair on the pads. Otherwise
the pads will become dirty and matted, causing painful walking for
the dog.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If your clipper does not seem to take a charge, check the following
before returning it for repair:
1. Check outlet operation by plugging in another appliance.
2. Make sure the outlet is not connected to a switch which turns the
power at the outlet off.
3. Be sure the clipper is properly connected to the recharging
transformer, all connections are secure and the switch on the
clipper is turned “OFF - 0.”
4. If your electricity is connected to a master power switch, we
suggest the clipper be disconnected from the charger anytime the
master switch is off. Leaving the unit plugged into a dead outlet
or an unplugged charger will drain the battery. Prior to storing,
disconnect recharging transformer from the unit.
5. If clipper does not run and it is completely charged, turn the unit
“ON - I” and pinch or push the blades manually. (Oil may have
dried out between the blades, so they may be temporarily stuck
together.)

OPERACIÓN RECARGABLE –
USO Y MANTENIMIENTO DE LA CORTADORA
1. Saque la cortadora, el transformador de recarga y los accesorios del material de
embalaje.
2. Antes de utilizar el aparato por primera vez, se debe cargar de 3 a 5 horas.
Después de la primera carga, recargar completamente la batería también tomará de
3 a 5 horas. Durante la carga, el indicador de carga se ilumina (NOTA: No todos los

OPERACIÓN DE LA UNIDAD RECARGABLE
CON CABLE/INALÁMBRICA
1. Antes de usarla, la máquina debe ser cargada durante 12 a 15 horas.

CORTADORA/RECICLAJE DE BATERÍAS
Dependiendo del uso que les dé, las baterías deberían durar cinco años.
Al final de su vida útil, cuando ya no puedan cargarse, no se pueden
reemplazar. La cortadora debe desecharse, pero primero se debe retirar y
reciclar la batería adecuadamente. Para ello, siga estos pasos.
1. Asegúrese de que el interruptor de encendido/apagado está en la posición
“0” (APAGADO) y que el cable NO está conectado a la cortadora ni a un
tomacorriente.
2. Retire el conjunto de cuchillas de la cortadora y retire los tornillos y la
cubierta.
3. Quite la cubierta liberando los “ganchos” visibles de la cubierta y
separándola.
4. Encuentre el tablero de circuito y la batería, y corte la terminal negativa de
la batería del tablero, y luego la terminal positiva.
5. Coloque cinta adhesiva en ambos extremos de la batería antes de
desecharla o reciclarla de forma adecuada.

MANTENIMIENTO DE LA CUCHILLA
LIMPIEZA:
Para quitar el pelo entre las cuchillas, use el cepillo de limpieza
incluido.
NO UTILICE AGUA PARA LIMPIAR LAS CUCHILLAS.
Para obtener mejores resultados, después de limpiar las cuchillas
con el cepillo añada aceite para cortadora Wahl a las cuchillas.
ACEITE:
Las cuchillas de su nueva cortadora se
deben aceitar cada varios cortes. Para
obtener mejores resultados, coloque
tres gotas en frente de la cuchilla y una
gota a cada lado de la cuchilla como
se indica. Utilice solamente aceite para
cortadora Wahl (en este kit se incluye
una botella pequeña; puede comprar
aceite adicional por separado; vea los detalles en www.grooming.
Wahl.com).
NO USE ACEITE PARA CABELLO, GRASA NI OTRO
ACEITE MEZCLADO CON QUEROSENO U OTRO
SOLVENTE.
CUIDADO DEL CABLE
No se debe usar el cable para tirar de la máquina. Debido a
que es necesario mantener un movimiento suelto, se debe tener
cuidado de mantener el cable sin retorcer y sin obstrucciones.
Cuando lo almacene, el cable se debe enrollar y la unidad se debe
colocar en la caja original o bolsa de almacenamiento (si está
incluida), lejos de los niños.
GUÍA DE WAHL PARA CORTAR EL PELO DE
ANIMALES SIN PROBLEMAS
Reúna sus accesorios:
Cortadora, aceite, cuchillas, cepillo profundo, peines accesorios y
peine, tijeras, champú sin irritantes, secadora, tapete de baño de
caucho, cortauñas.
ANTES DE CORTAR
Cepille a conciencia el pelaje.
a) Elimine todos los nudos, enredos y apelmazamientos.
b) Parta el pelo y cepíllelo en secciones de 1 pulgada (2.5 cm)
-cepille desde la piel hacia afuera.
HORA DEL BAÑO
a) Moje bien al perro.
b) Aplique champú y forme una buena espuma.
c) Preste especial atención al recto y a las almohadillas (la parte de
abajo de las patas).
d) Tenga cuidado de que no entre jabón en los ojos del perro (para
mayor seguridad use un champú sin irritantes).
e) Enjuague abundantemente.
f) Exprima suavemente las patas, las orejas y la cola.
g) Seque con toalla
h) Esponje el pelo, o cepíllelo y séquelo.
• Comience con las patas usando un cepillo de alambre y subiendo
hacia el cuerpo.
• Aplique la secadora directamente al área que está cepillando
Seque una parte a la vez.
• Use pasadas ligeras para esponjar.
• No debe haber enredos ni nudos cuando termine.

CÓMO CORTAR EL CABELLO
La primera vez que corte el pelo, corte solo una pequeña cantidad
hasta que se acostumbre al largo del cabello que logra con cada guía.
Dependiendo de su modelo, los siguientes peines guía podrían venir
incluidos en su juego.
Comience siempre colocando el peine guía más largo en la cortadora,
después use los peines más cortos si desea una longitud más corta.
Peine guía N° 1 - deja el pelo de aproximadamente 1/8 pulg (3.2 mm)
Peine guía N° 2 - deja el pelo de aproximadamente 1/4 pulg (6.4 mm)
Peine guía N° 3 - deja el pelo de aproximadamente 3/8 pulg (9.5 mm)
Peine guía N° 4 - deja el pelo de aproximadamente 1/2 pulg (12.7 mm)
Para colocar peines, sujete el peine con los dientes hacia arriba e
insértelo con firmeza en la parte inferior de la cuchilla de la cortadora.
Para lograr un corte parejo, deje que la cortadora avance a través del
cabello.
No la fuerce para que pase con una velocidad mayor.

1) Antes de cortar el pelo a su cachorro por primera vez, haga
funcionar la cortadora cerca de su oreja por un período corto para que
se acostumbre al ruido.
2) Si va a cortarle el pelo por primera vez, el proceso será lento. Trate
de moverse con el perro mientras hace el corte. Después de algunas
sesiones de corte, desarrollará su propio estilo y los cortes serán
más rápidos.
3) Tómese su tiempo al cortar y sea muy afectuoso. Los perros
sienten cuando tiene prisa y reaccionan poniéndose nerviosos, lo que
dificulta más el corte.
4) Es muy importante recortar el pelo excesivo de las almohadillas de
las patas. De lo contrario las almohadillas se ensuciarán y enredarán,
causándole dolor al caminar al perro.
SOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS
Si parece que la cortadora no se carga, verifique lo siguiente antes
de llevarla a reparar:
1. Verifique el funcionamiento del tomacorriente enchufando otro
artefacto.
2. Asegúrese de que el tomacorriente no esté conectado a un
interruptor que corta la energía del tomacorriente.
3. Asegúrese de que la cortadora esté conectada correctamente al
transformador de carga, que todas las conexiones sean seguras y
que el interruptor de la cortadora esté en la posición “OFF – 0”.
4. Si la electricidad está conectada a un interruptor general,
sugerimos desconectar la cortadora del cargador cuando el
interruptor general esté apagado. Si deja la unidad enchufada
a un tomacorriente sin energía o un cargador desenchufado, se
descargará la batería. Antes de guardar la unidad, desconecte el
transformador de carga.
5. Si la cortadora no funciona y tiene la carga completa, encienda
la unidad (posición “ON – I”) y comprima o empuje las cuchillas
en forma manual. (Es posible que se haya secado aceite entre las
cuchillas y que por eso estén temporalmente pegadas).
